Newark 5/18 dilemma!

I have quite the dilemma for Tuesday night - 10C tickets to Newark, and also tickets to Stone Temple Pilots at Gramercy Theater in NYC (capacity = 600ish). When the STP tickets went on sale Friday morning all I knew was that the show would be "late", and since I didn't plan on being able to score tickets anyway I rolled the dice at 10am and miraculously pulled a pair. While PJ is clearly my favorite band of all time (this will be show #25, and I still have both MSG's to look forward to this week), the opportunity to see another favorite of mine at a venue like that just may be too much for me to pass up.

Ideally...I'm trying to hit both of these, and secretly I'm cursing PJ for not playing Albany or Providence or Boston for a 2nd night because those would have been out of my range for a Tuesday night and I wouldn't have any decision to make here! Doors for STP are at 945, show time is apparently 1015 but anyone who has ever been to an STP show knows that they take their sweet ass time hitting the stage and that could easily turn into 11 (or later - and for me the later the better!). Local H (remember them? They've got a song titled "Eddie Vedder"!) is playing the same venue earlier this night, so there are a lot of things that can happen here to make things happen late...or so I hope!

Anyway, my point here is that if anyone sees a neighbor of theirs in 10C seats book out of the show inexcusably early, that person is probably me and the other concert is where I'll be going to round out my evening! I simply cannot pass up the opportunity to see two bands this awesome in one night ever again. In conclusion, all I ask for here is the understanding of my fellow 10C'ers in the event that I do the unthinkable and leave early. Lastly, all bets are off if I win the lottery and security at The Rock will have to drag my carcass from the seat I'm assigned come night's end and by the 3rd song I won't even remember who STP is/was.

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

I left my seat during Alive and watched the close of the show from the top of the stairs of the section I was in, paid $80 to the first cabbie that would pick me up, and made the STP show for the last 1/3 of their set. Better than nothing...but very thankful they didn't go on until almost 11!

Can't wait for Thurs & Fri at MSG. Also can't wait to go to sleep tonight! :D
