I actually liked Ian Astbury before this.

    That is probably the dumbest thing I have ever read. Jim Morrison was the singer of the Doors. Why the hell would someone, especially any of those guys, who are all in bands that keep them busy, want to take over for a legend? His opinion does not bother me or offend me, I just think that his opinion on this particular subject, makes him look like an idiot who say's incredibly stupid shit... and I dont like name calling or things like that, so this whole thing must have been really stupid.
    words seem so out of place.

    I just have to defend him a little here. I dont think he has said these things. This is probably a bit of miss quoting.

    Ian may still be holding a bit of a grudge over what John Densmore said a few years ago.
    Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."

    Asked if he'd perform with his bandmates if Vedder was on board for shows, the drummer adds, "Probably."

    But he admits lawsuits and legal issues that escalated after he forced his bandmates to drop the name The Doors of The 21st Century and adopt Riders On The Storm instead will always get in the way of a full reunion.

    He's right though. Who else but Eddie could do these songs true justice? But he's kind of busy with that Pearl Jam band so it might not happen.

    They never should have gotten back together, but if anyone, Travis Meek did a pretty amazing job singing The End on the VH1 special a few years ago. But he's too shy and placid to step into the role of Jim. Leave The Doors in the 60's.

    Ian, I loved a lot of your work, but fuck, recognize, not critisize.
