My brother in law called from Hartford

Said this is one for the books - ranks with Mansfield III 2003 which he attended and in his opinion blew away Philly 4 which he also attended in terms of sustained power if not overall length. He says this will be a touchstone bootleg much like Atlanta 94 and Soldier's Field 1995. Just his opinion. He said Mike was quite spastic tonight, that Stone's acoustic strumming on Nothingman was perfection and that Ed went through 2 bottles of wine. His take is that they wanted to give a show completely different than the Binaural/Riot Act heavy 2008 Hartford show, thus took the unusual approach of clustering their early radio hits together in bunches to power up energy among the non 10-clubbers. He said it worked amazingly well. Also, the poster is of two kids vandalizing a fence with an old man chasing them down, he said it is great and he got me one!

sitting here in philly i laugh at a show that could have been better then Spectrum III or IV.
the most irritating discussion in this community is the NEVER ENDING argument of Shows vs. Shows, Setlists vs. Setlists.
it has been going on for nearly 45 years in the GRATEFUL DEAD community...its a pointless argument. and look at how many more shows the original grateful dead lineup has played then PJ. Everybody has opinion greatest show ever. and unless you have been to EVERY pearl jam show ever...you have know way of trying to argue what the best show is. its white noise to me...but i HAD to chime in because the posts lately have been embarrassing. People who weren't even at shows, determining what setlist is better then the other. gimme a break.
sorry to hijack the thread and discount your bro in laws experience. im glad Hartford got a 'monster show'...cant wait for MSG! il be there.
