At least we know that if the whole "Pearl Jam" thing doesn't work out Eddie should be able to catch on with Van Halen.

edddie wouldn't join a washed up train wreck of a band

Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

    lol
You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself
  • McCready can take over when Eddie (the other Eddie) croaks. i dont think it will be long from the looks of things.

I am a firm believer that PJ can only make songs better....and they tore that Halen tune up

    http://vhnd.com/old/archive/cheroneletter.html

This was the letter. It was addressed to Ed simply to get publicity. So Ed is pro-choice, so am I, so are millions of others. Why Ed was singled out shows the stupidity of Cherone.

But then again, he also wrote this rubbish:

    Saying I love you
Is not the words I want to hear from you
It's not that I want you
Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
More than words is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
    Cos I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you

    More than words

Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
    Cos I'd already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you

    More than words

1.) was that a joke or did they actually cover it lol
2.) if they did cover it, did they cover it in response to this letter?
3.) why did this guy single out ed? lol
4.) gotta love the "what if she was having a boy" line at the end.... it was his attempt to make us go "oooohhhhh"
5.) i'm not just saying this because ed is one of my favourite singers, but that letter was pretty pointless and lame. it has nothing to do with being a woman... it has everything to do with being a human. being human involves the freedom of choice and if you take that away we have nothing lol.
6.) what if she was raped, gary?

    1. no joke
    2. no clue
    3. probably cause ed was famous at the time
    4. didn't read the letter
    5. ed is not my favorite singer
    6. hard to answer
    7. van halen suck
    8. gary cherone sucks
    9. 4 more days till pearl jam for me
    10. i've run outta things to say

The letter was from years ago.

Most of us 40 somethings, grew up on a diet of some cool stuff and some 'other stuff'. In the 70s, 80s I remember loving bands like Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, KISS, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Zep, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Clash, The Ruts, The Angels, Skyhooks, Split Enz, The Who, etc, etc. The guys from PJ give credit to some of these influences regularly.

Some of these bands I still listen to, some not. I think VH were one of Mike's faves.

for serious - love singing along to that song... we had it on at work the other day and we were all emoting like crazy. though phil collins also has that reaction. as does wham, rick astley and early michael jackson so... there's that.
  • no one gives a shit about Gary Cherone.

but Dave era VH is pretty cool.

Maybe they'll cover Panama one day :)

At the time, I remember someone (can't remember if it was Ed, or a post on here) saying that they were tough words from a guy who had to get up and sing 'Hot For Teacher' every night. What a fucking hypocrite

hey man.. i said i love singing along to that song.. not that i love the song. i also love singing along when my dog is barking, doesn't mean i'm doing it for any reason other than to assert my obnoxiousness :mrgreen:

go on... put those nice things back...

you'll have to find it first. i'm ASSUMING that after the crowd cleared out mike ran back out onto the stage to pick it up and now uses it as a bedspread...

That was crazy good! While he may not be a guitar inovator...Mike can play with anyone. Ed deserves props for being a good sport (not being his song choice obviously) and having fun. He sounded great. BTW...Matt was underratedly awesome as well.
