Purchased EV signed Into The Wild poster, what do you think?

Hello guys. I just purchased a recently offered poster of Into The Wild signed by Eddie. I made an offer from a $499 "Buy It Now". Only 14 people viewed the auction before my offer was accepted which is good. Check it out and let me know your thoughts...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380233698684

I asked the seller the story behind the poster. Here is what I got...

"No big wear really, has some minor bends, signed at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago after Eddie had come back from a Cubs game last year"
Any pics of him or of him signing?
"it happened to fast, barely got the poster through the window, his security didn't want him to sign at all"
Gotcha. Can you give me a date of the signature?
"I can see if I have my old planner to give you the exact date, and will ship out monday priority"

Seller has great feedback, signature looks authentic (no?) and a COA is provided. I know COAs can be easy to generate but I think this is the real deal. Thoughts?

I'm pretty excited!

Looks good to me, but if you want real piece of mind, go here http://www.psadna.com/quickopinion/Default.aspx and type in the ebay item number. For $7.95 you'll get an expert opinion from PSA/DNA authenticators and they'll give you either "Likely Genuine" or "Not Likely Genuine". I've used the service before and it's quick (within a day or so I received a response)

he didnt, it went for 100$. still too much for my blood......but to each their own, at least its real. but the poster looks a little crimped. I would get it drymounted and stuck flat onto cardboard or even wood. something, then gloss over it and hang it like that unframed.

Correct, I purchased for $100. I was the first offer and only 14 people total actually viewed the auction.

I noticed the possible wrinkle as well. I'll have to assess when it arrives. Worse case I can dry mount as you mentioned. I typically frame from AmericanFrame.com. Thanks for the advice.

This is indeed authentic and a steal for only a $100 I actualy was watching that poster in my watch list on ebay I diddnt think he would accept a $100 for it or I would have certainly offered that, good buy.

Isn't the point of having something signed to show that YOU actually met that person and had them sign it for you. Buying something that someone else had signed for them kinda defeats the whole purpose.

Autographs have different meanings for everybody - For some of us, an Eddie Vedder autograph in our collection is a small piece of American Rock History. That may seem over the top, but if you think about it, Eddie Vedder is in the same class of front men as Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Jim Morrison - as far as importance and impact in our culture.

personally not into buying signed stuff, but I like it. nice job!

I think purchasing a signature is ridiculous, but that's just me I guess.

Well, for me, this poster is special. I'm a big fan of Into The Wild and Eddie is one of my favorite singer songwriters. Having his hard to obtain sig on this unique poster sold me. I think his sig on this ITW poster is better than any PJ poster. Just me. ITW is all Eddie. ;)

Oh and he's a rock n' roll legend.

Not to mention, growing up in the southeast made it difficult to even encounter EV/PJ. I'm making up for it now though. See you at MSG next week!

Cool. I didn't think he would accept $100 either. Wonder if I could have gotten it cheaper. :)

I found out yesterday, after the seller checked his planner, that the autograph was received Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago. I checked PJs tour schedule. PJ was playing the United Center that night and the next.

"It was signed Sunday August 23,2009 at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Chicago, signed as Eddie's vehicle was pulling underneath the hotel, he rolled down to sign this poster and signed about 4 other graphs"

"It happened to fast, barely got the poster through the window, his security didn't want him to sign at all"

I'd like to be the dude in the limo staying at the Chicago Ritz who prints money and goes to Cubs games and generously agrees to sign posters.

A hundy seems like a good deal for the signed poster but you might wake up one day in a few years and say, "I just don't care about that poster anymore." If you can authenticate the sig, you can resell for more than $100, which is nice.

For your $7.49, you will get a qualified opinion based on an expert's examination of the scan. The opinion will be either "likely genuine" or "likely not genuine," based on the following standards:

*Likely genuine: Our expert believes that the item, if physically submitted to CU's PSA/DNA division for examination, would likely receive a PSA/DNA certificate of authenticity.

*Likely not genuine: Our expert believes that the item, if physically submitted to PSA/DNA for examination, would likely not receive a PSA/DNA certificate of authenticity.

What is the point of buying an autograph? It was never intended for you so what special feeling do you have when you get it? Isn't that the special appeal of an autograph? The fact that you made that connection to the person? Or do you just lie to everyone and tell them he signed it at the last show you were at. For $25 I will sign one for you and you can tell the same people the same lie anyway. Who would know it was real anyway? I'm sure none of your friends would know the difference.

Already mentioned my point above. Maybe you missed that. And, no, I do not lie about meeting Eddie.

FWIW, I actually have met him once before but did not get an autograph. 2008 Solo concert in NYC.
