MP3, FLAC or CD?

What's the consenus? Call me cheap, but I am not sure it is worth the extra $2 for the CD's, which are just green burnt cd anyways. I don't mind buying FLAC, because I do think it sounds better. What do y'all buy?

    FLAC and convert to Apple lossless and play on my ipod

    I like cds b/c I have to have something tangible in my hands. However, as soon as I open them I put them on my computer, than burn a cd for the car so the original doesn't get scratched and I put in on my iPod. Usually in that order,lol.

    Exactly! Buy CD, then rip the CD to HD. Save the .wav files. Then use Flac fronted to make your very own .flac files. Use dBpoweramp Music Converter or many other freeware applications and make those .wav files to mp3 files. Variable bit rate mp3's, V0 - V2 etc.. Lame encoded mp3's, .wma's you name it. Also don't forget, alway's backup your goodies. On data dvdr, data cdr or hard drive style! 8-)
