One the most moving, colorful, and well written movies of the last 10 years.

If you can watch films with sub titles, it's will be worth the time. Especially when it's date night. :!:

I'd love to check this film out.

On the subject of foreign films, I wanted to recommend another one that I really enjoyed. Not trying to steal the OP's thunder...

    Amelie - I love!

Y Tu Mama Tambien - Certainly a classic and everyone should see it... but I didn't think it quite lived up to the hype.

I didn't know there was a hype - I discovered it only last year through a friend of mine.

I must see that movie! I love movies that push traditional boundaries of older men younger woman. Although legal would be better, the film sounds delightful. Thanks for the recommedation.

I ran an independent movie theater when it came out and we ran it longer than almost any other film. I guess I meant hype as in popularity more than hype as in marketing.

Ah, that's cool that you ran an indie movie theater. I can dig on the popularity thing. Unfortunately I've had a few things ruined for me for their over-inflation.

The advantage of living in Europe is that you are 'exposed' to those films and have a far greater opportunity to discover 'foreign' films than in the US. This includes not only European films but also African, Asian & Arab. There are some other fantastic, more 'mainstream' ones such as Delicatessen or The City of Lost Children. So many films from so many countries to enjoy, not just Hollywood blockbusters....

Does anyone remember Betty Blue? It was a bit of a classic when I was a lot younger than I am now. Think we might still have it on video somewhere ...

I've got a bit more on you then! You were barely old enough to understand Betty Blue when it came out! On the other hand I was a 'real' adult!:lol::lol:

I love Amélie. :) Y Tu Mamá También is also very good. Been a while since I've watched either of those though. Maybe it's time for a re-watch soon.
