Ed: "1, 2, 3, 4, 2,..." (Stone started strumming JUST a little too early, stops himself, Ed laughs, crowd cheers),...

Ed: "Stone Gossard, everybody, right here...there's two people, ah, standing over here with "Let Stone Sing Songs" Signs (crowd cheers, Stone noodlepicks on his acoustic),...

(crowd up front starts the chant, "Let Stone Sing,..."

Ed: "Let Stone Sing a Song is the sign",... (dumbfounded)

the crowd cheer picks up steam, Stone still noodlepicking, likely embarrassed,...Matt then joins Stone with a little high-hat groove as he's picked up on the cheer,...Ed has also now picked up on it, and repeats it in amazement "Let Stone Sing,..."

Jeff joins in on the groove, then Matt kicks it up a notch with the cowbell, Ed strums a note, and we have ourselves a funky little groove inspired by the chant

    quick jam ends. crowd cheers.

Ed: "No, he shall never sing! (crowd laughs),...He shall never sing! He shant be singing! (crowd boo's),...Not only will he not be singing, but he'll be kissing fish! Where's the fish to kiss? (side note: the practice of kissing fish in Newfoundland, known as "screeching") I think we've been had! (Ed giggles),...What? You think that actually somebody's not letting him sing, is that the connotation of that sign? (Stone noodlepicks) Stone Gossard can sing anytime he wants, at any time, on this stage, on any stage really (crowd cheers),...He chooses not to, and he's waiting to find a worthy audience apparently (crowd boo's),...

Stone: "Actually, what I've always wanted to do is dance, so, (crowd cheers) tonight I'm going to perform later, ah, after the show for an hour, so (Ed starts strumming a little groove for Stone to dance to), everyone stick around, it's gonna be fuckin' kick-ass, for sure! (the rest of the band joins in you, and Stone can't resist!)

That London show had some incredible energy. I recall before they came on stage, perhaps 30 minutes before the show started I was in the beer line on the perimeter of the bowl and I thought the place was just going to erupt. It was bordering on Chaos.
