a 3 day festival with pearl jam playing every night would be awesome. completely different set lists every night would be amazing... maybe for 10 year anniversary?

I have been to 20 pearl jam shows, and my bonnarroo experience was amazing... the crowd, the setlist, the energy and the atmosphere (along with the 1000s of glow sticks flying, an incredibly loud crowd, the pot smoking and mushroom eating openly happening and no one stopping them) just made for an incredible show.

When i heard All along the watch tower... WMA.... Who you are... hard to imagine... just made the night for me.
Release in the 2nd encore was also amazing... i sang my heart out to my dad only to not know that 2 days later i would lose my 21 year old brother... just gave me strength for what was to come.

So yes, a non strict time slot at a festival would be great. Last year phish played 2 nights at bonnarroo... so its possible.

This would be an insane venture for some company to take....If a company was smart and Pearl Jam was smart they would do something like this...

The guys are activists and support tons of causes and charities....a 3 day festival would raise..*Millions* of dollars for awareness and support for whatever causes the band chooses...

Imagine a festival in a place like Bonnaroo where there where no time slots for the band, no sound laws and no shows the next day except the show right back on the same stage....We saw what the guys can do in a restricted environment in Philly last year or at the Garden a couple of years ago when they played 3 straight nights....an outdoor festival would be even more insane.

Lets be honest...there are few...very few...fan bases that travel the way PJ fans do. You have a festival somewhere in middle America - i.e. not outside some major city or something...Because the big cities get all the breaks when it comes to concerts anyway...play somewhere in middle america and get a place for 3 days and nights....Look at all the people we know whom are great friends with the band...

    Band of Horses
    Kings of Leon
    The Black Keys
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Sonic Youth
    Ted Leo
    Robert Pollard
    Ben Harper
    The Who
    Jack Johnson
    The Foo Fighters
    Neil Young
    Soundgarden
    Jane's Addiction

Thats just off the top of my head, not counting all the actors and athletes that are huge fans of the band....this could be a massive thing that the band could do next summer to celebrate their 20th anniversary. This thing would be HUGE.

Pretty sure something like this was in the works a few years ago in Toronto at some park. Was either 07 or 08. I don't remember what forced it to not happen.
Alpine Valley would be a perfect location for such an event!
