Pistachio macaroons - check
Chocolate covered pecans - check
Yogurt covered almonds - check
Croissants - check
Oranges and clementines - check
Backspacer CD - check

Will buy a cappuccino before we leave

I'm good to go! See you there :)

Should be a great show! Looking forward to another one.

It looks like you've got enough food to make it to the venue. See you there. :)

1st show ever in a Pavillion. Rain or shine, can't wait! A ton of people have talked about the traffic issue so I decided to take a half day of work and drive down early to catch the benefit at the Bungalow Alehouse. 8-)

Oh dear, we probably won't get out of work until 5pm. Well, we'll just deal with whatever traffic problems life throws our way.

I went with a friend to the O's/Mariners game yesterday, and we accidentally went the wrong way down a poorly marked one-way street. It wasn't a side street, but luckily it wasn't a highway either. We made it out unscathed, and if anyone swore we didn't hear it. Boy, did I LOVE Baltimore at that moment, as there was an incredible amount of patience on display.

I'll just assume we'll have good car karma for this one, too.

if you are leaving at 5 good luck getting there traffic is going to be a nightmare. Not trying to be a downer.I advise leaving early as possible to get to this place.

I live just a few miles from the pavilion and work near DC. I sit in that traffic every day and can vouch for it being awful...but, a little PJ on the radio and you'll be good to go.

I am SO ready and thinking about trying to hit the pre-party before the show, AFTER I pick up my tickets of course but I'm a little bit afraid to leave the parking lot and try to come back in later. Hmmm......

I'm ready! Traffic will suck but as long as I am at my seat for the Band of Horses I really do not care. I am leaving Columbia, MD around 2:45, meet friends in Burke, Va around 4pm and make our way to the venue. I wish they would of come to Merriweather Post.

Getting out will be worse then arriving.

Why so early? The beer is cheaper on the outside.

Do not leave the parking lot. Bring a cooler, lawn chair and make some new friends.

Haha. So true. They want to get inside to get a poster, hear the soundcheck, etc. Im assuming you cant re-enter, so I will probably hang outside for awhile.

FOR ANYONE TRAVELING TO THE SHOW IN THE DC AREA:

Rush hour in Northern VA, DC, and Maryland is the worst thing you will ever see in your life (I am from New York and I'm saying this). The most direct route is off of 66, which is a nightmare. If you have an hour drive and are leaving at 5, prepare not to be there until about 7:30-8 o'clock. For those leaving from the Fairfax/Tysons corner area (like me), understand that the venue is literally about 20 minutes without traffic, so account for an hour or hour and a half with trying to get parking.

  • I arrive dulles at noon. Pick up rental car. Then not sure if I should drive all the way to downtown dc where my hotel is after getting tickets or stay in Bristow till show time and leave my bags in car. I don't want to be stuck in rush hour traffic...what to do?

It's a trek from Dulles to downtown and then back out to the venue. IMO, you are better off staying close to the venue.

I'm a little peeved with ticket master but then again, what's new? I bought my tickets through them because I missed the ten club pre-sale (I have a "little" medical condition and was in the hospital that week) and at the time the Best Seat Available was in the 300 section. So I went on the site yesterday because I thought to myself, "I wonder if..." and low and behold they are Sec 100 tix available. WHAT!!! Can someone please explain this to me? How can ticket master have better seats available two days before the show than they did on the day they go on sale to the general public? If money wasn't so tight I would have eaten my $187.00 for two tix and paid another $187.00 for the Sec. 101s.

That being said, I've been learning recently that life can be funny so I will look and on the bright-sde and just be glad that I'm going to see my favorite band once again.

Everyone have a great time and we'll see you there.

no way would I drive into DC and then back out to bristow. You're looking at a miserable commute back to the venue from the city.

Sometimes credit cards get rejected so the tickets get placed back into the rotation. It does suck. One time I actually called ticketmaster and raised a stink and they allowed me to purchase the upgraded seats in exchange for my other seats. I may of tweaked the truth:) but it worked. This was for a Modest Mouse show at Constitution Hall. They are not supposed to exchange or anything but I guess it's all in who you talk to on the other side of the phone.

here's how to spot me, I'll be wearing a pair of tiger ears (part of an old Halloween costume!)

    j/k

I'll have on a dark green sleeveless ribbed turtle neck and dark blue jeans with new balance sneakers.
they might be muddy after all that rain yesterday. then when it gets cold, I'll have on a bright blue hoodie that tells where I work near the left upper corner (a lady at cvs recently asked me if I am a rocket scientist.)

I made chocolate chip cookies this a.m. for my husband for in the car, waiting...

I hope we really can park vip if we show our email :)

Anyone else get the feeling there'll be a pre-set tonight?

I'd love to sit in the lot for a while and get into the spirit, but I've got a nagging feeling that I'll miss something.
