Things to do in NY??

Morning!

Me and a friend are heading to New York this Saturday (volcano permitting ) and staying for a week, our last night will be MSG2.

Before we get there though, can anyone recommend any NY "must do's"?

Any cool bars would be good to know too, I've read a couple of guide books but some local knowledge is always good!
