Ruminations on a solo Eddie

So, after giving this some considerable thought and pondering over the possibility (as is the case with all bands) that if pearl jam actually ever split up I have no question whatsoever that given the strength of the "in the wild" record that we won't be left living in a "that voice" free world.
The controversy of my rumination lies in the fact that I have played and enjoyed Into the wild more so than the past three pearl jam studio albums. Thats Avocado, Binaural and riot act. I am not a riot act knocker as that record is amazing and neither do I not rate the other two. I rate the avocado record very highly, but there is something about into the wild that hits me more so than those three records.
All taste is subjective of course, but this is my thought for the afternoon, please discuss at will or let slip to the bottom of the page and cast me aside is a nutter : - )

Of course I like all the Jam records. All of them. A lot. But... I will agree that I like Into the Wild more than those last three. I love that record. The Eddie Solo Tour was... so so great. I also was reassured just being a realist that...should the day come where we all are delivered the crippling blow that the boys have decided to walk while on top, that I won't be left out in the cold... without what has been a magic potion for me over the last fifteen + years..."the voice" or... "la voce"...eddie.
Whether Ed likes it or not...and it appears he likes it more than he used to. He speaks and influences many many many of us. His voice, poetry and general way are a big part of all of our lives. He's now heavily weaved into the fabric of the music many of us love and I don't think he's going anywhere for a long time.
Hope I'm right.
LONG LIVE PEARL JAM.
...is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?
Anyway, to compare the last 3 PJ albums with Into The Wild, right now I'd say:
ITW > Avocado
ITW ties Riot Act. (very tough call, RA would win, but its very uneven to me.)
Binaural > ITW
It'll be interesting to see if my thinking has changed in the next few years about all of these albums.
I'm glad to see someone has come to their senses! (ITTW is awesome though...and i am very happy to be one of the lucky ones who got to witness his solo shows)
2008- Boston I+II
2009- Toronto, Philly III+IV
2010- Bristow, Hartford, Boston, Newark
id be more worried about the smoking.
anyway, love ITW and think it will survive the test of time with me. as Avocado will too.
