I replaced memory on a dell, and now the cd drive does not work properly. It no longer auto plays. I can play cds if I have itunes open, or if I manually play them. Any ideas how to fix this?

Is that really such a big issue?

Put the old memory back in and see if it still does it. Shouldn't be using Itunes anyway.

The old memeory is gone. Itunes isnt really the issue. I put cd in drive and nothing happens. I am trying to install windows from a cd and cant because of this.

Check to see if auto-play is still enabled. Make sure all connections are snug on the board and the CD player. It's possible when you had your hands in the computer putting the memory in you may have loosened up something. Are you trying to install a fresh copy of Windows?
