i know the thread is a joke, but in all seriousness, my vote is eva cassidy's field of gold. if you dont get choked up at this song you arent alive.

ryan adams version of wonderwall, is absolutely devastating.

On another forum I frequent, we had a whole thread dedicated to this ... I suggest you read through it:

    http://forum.expressobeans.com/viewtopi ... 24&t=27277

My all time favorite is Aerosmith covering "Train Kept a Rollin' " ....

If this thread gets serious, I'll post more, but, I'll wait and see the ture dedication to this before I invest a lot of time in it.

I think you were right. That's the one I keep coming back too. And I love the original, but Hendrix really makes it his. So this and Hooked on a Feeling by the Hoff. ;)

Some dude did an acoustic version of Hey Ya....that's it :D

Though I'm not a huge hendrix fan....it is hard to argue with All Along the Watchtower....as suggested Train Kept A-Rollin' ain't half bad either
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

William Shatner (with Joe Jackson & Ben Folds) ~ Common People.

OK, maybe not the best ever (when compared with Hallelujah, All Along the Watchtower), but still an excellent cover, especially considering Shatners questionable history with covers.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals' version of 'Down In a Hole' is so much better than the Alice In Chains version.
