I think they'll get it done. He's the "Chipper Jones" of this era of Braves baseball.markymark550 said:Go Braves! Really happy that Freddie gets a ring. It may not be a "smart" move re-signing him to a big contract, but damn he deserves it. I hope he's an Atl lifer."I got memories, I got shit"0 -
Yep...enjoy it! All the Braves heartbreak over the years, 28-3 and UGA in the national championship....finally something good happened for Atlanta!!JojoRice said:Been an Atlanta area resident my entire life. The city of Atlanta/state of Georgia really needed this one. We've had our hearts broken so many times previously.
CHOP ON!!!!!0 -
I find it amazing that all those years, teams, pitchers, Division titles/Pennants.... etc. That they only won one in 1995 (only because they played a cursed team)... and now this team matches the past 31 years.0

It definitely stings, but I'm really happy with how the Astros responded this year. I'm looking forward to watching them play down in Florida next February.
It was a great series. Both teams will be in contention again next year.
I think you're right---both teams will be in the thick of it again next year. I imagine that their rosters may look a little different, but there's nothing any of us can do about that.
I don't see the Brave repeating...it was just a magical season where the stars aligned.

Having a Healthy Acuna in the lineup helps a lot of things.mfc2006 said:

They should and I hope they do. You just never know with front offices valuing youth, team control, and not overpaying players.JojoRice said:

Posey retiring. Many say he's a HOF. But if Thurman's not in. I don't get why he's a lock?I miss igotid880

He's better?
Everything doesn't have to be about Yankees players.
Posey is a dunk. He will not have to wait too long. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
Has nothing to do about the Yankees. Munson was a great player who died before he could retire on his own. And their numbers are comparableF Me In The Brain said:He's better?

Munson’s numbers ARE similar. in Thurman’s time, you had to be an absolute stud to make the HOF. these days, you can be harold baines.igotid88 said:

Posey is well liked and won a few chips so I get why he gets in.
Munson should be in.

He's not. He does a ton of charity work and is very approachable with fans. He chatted with my wife and I for 10-15 minutes at Spring Training and he certainly didn't have to do that.Wobbie said:Question for mfc: I don’t dislike your astros, but bregman strikes me as a dick. am I wrong?
See my reply above. Sure, some athletes are straight-up assholes. He is definitely not one of them.Cliffy6745 said:
