 Good for them.  So fucking pissed the white sox weren't willing to give him what he wanted...they had a chance to sign an elite 26 year old and were too cheap to get it done. So disappointing but not surprising from Reinsdorf.

Both of ARod's contracts were worth more than Machado's with inflation. And considering MLB was revenue was 3 billion then compared to 10 or 11 billion now

I'd still like to see the Phils go after one of them as well since they've done more of an overhaul to win now and they could use a lefty in their rotation.

Edwin is another solid player yes.

Also I do argue about greenies and stuff like that but I'm beginning to see that HGH and steroids had a far greater effect.

For some it had a worse effect when not taken right though too.

This is the story of most teams, the Mets especially.  I will give them credit though that they did do some signing this off season.

As for the Padres, they have 5 years of Machado before he can opt out.  They have 5 years to bring up Gore, Urias and Tatis to help the cause.  They'll need a few more arms but it should be fun to watch if it works.
