Woke up to the news on Taveras. Just awful.
  • Turned the game on a little late. What the hell happened?
  • Wow, Game 7. This is what almost every non-KC/SF fan wanted when the series started, right? Love the drama, going to be fun tonight. Hope KC can end the title drought!

Game 7. Looks like it could be a good nail-biter. Tied 2-2.

    Go Giants!

Fucking stupid to bunt there when you're up 2-0 in the count against Bumgarner and Aoki up next. Even dumber to let a 2-0 fastball go by on Aoki's part when Bumgarners trying to find the strike zone. You know you're getting a beach ball there.

Bumgarner has ONLY thrown 36 pitches(through the 7th).

I heard that he was good for 50-60 pitches.

Can he finish this game off?

It's a NO-BRAINER for me: Bumgarner comes out for the 9th.

I'm going with your BEST pitcher if i'm Bochy.

I really think gordon could have scored on that. He was halfway to third when they finally fielded it.

Jack Morris had the best single game World Series performance in history (1991, Game 7).

Madison Bumgarner just had the best World Series performance and best playoff performance in history.

They both had facial hair and sweet plumage.

OMG, that was beyond exciting! Totally stoked that my home town team won and really have to hand it to the KC Royals for an exciting series and playing with a lot of heart.

Also a big thumbs up to Royals manager Ted Yost's gracious post game interview- a class act that man, for sure.

Morris had a better game then Sandy Koufax? (1965 WS-game 7) or Don Larson's perfect game? or are you just a LITTLE bias?>LOL!!

Have to say that I'm disappointed that the Royals didn't win, but congrats to the giants. 3 WS Championships in the last 5 years is very impressive. It was definitely a treat to see Bumgarner pitch this series

It would have been interesting to see the Royals 3rd base coach send the runner home for an in-the-park homerun in the 9th. I think they would have had him but you never know if the rely man is jacked up with emotion and ends up botching the throw. It would have been a great moment either way .... I think the coach is going to be thinking about that play for a long, long time.

Billy Butler looks exactly what a Billy Butler should look like. Godspeed, Billy Butler.

  • Wow, congrats to the Giants for #3 in 5 years. Truly impressive.
Bumgarner is the new Rivera when it comes to playoff dominance. Spectacular.
I was wishing they sent Gordon for the drama of it but I think the right call was not sending him....

And while Morris' game was the best WS performance that I can remember from watching I cannot believe that trumps a perfect game.

The Giants have done it with underwhelming teams and that says more about their collective heart and about their manager/GM. Hell of a job!

  • I really think gordon could have scored on that. He was halfway to third when they finally fielded it.

No way. Gordon was out by a mile if they sent him home.

It's funny how a lot of people this morning are saying they should have sent him in case the Giants made a mistake on the relay. Could you imagine the backlash on that 3B coach if he sends him and Gordon is out by 40 feet like he most likely would have been?? It was the right move.

I'm not saying they should have sent him, I do think if he didn't let up he had a chance. It looked like he was slowing down already and almost halfway to third when they finally fielded it. If he was running full speed he could have made it close. That's a big ball park.

agree with you here. when the shortstop gets the ball Gordon is just at 3rd. decent throw and he is out by 40 feet.

i thought Yost fucked up bunting in the 5th after the leadoff hit against Bumgarner. if you were going to get him that was the spot. one on, no out and the top of the order up. you gave him an easy out there. didn't like it and too soon to play for a tie in my opinion.

what can be said about Bumgarner. sucks for the Royals to basically get beat by one pitcher. what a performance. guy was barely challenged at all during the playoffs. Amazing effort by him. nothing to do but tip your cap there.

congrats to the I'm Alive dude - know he is a big Giants fans. 3 titles in 5 years..fuckers.

i thought this as well. but if he sent him, and he was thrown out by 30 feet (which probably would have happened), the coach would have lived with that much longer than not sending him.

better strategy for the royals in the 9th: stop swinging at high fast balls that are eye level.

Could you imagine the reaction if that happened? The internet would have exploded last night with people calling for the 3rd base coach's head.

That would have been a much more effective strategy. I know Bumgarner was awesome, but some of these pitches these guys were swinging at weren't even close to the strike zone.
