As greedy as the other MLB owners are, I can't believe that they haven't forced a sale of the team to someone who would run it correctly. They have to be tired of sending revenue sharing money to him and not getting a large relocation fee from him for the right to move to LV.

Reinsdorf is one of the worst owners in all of sports.  He has never given a shit about winning.  And now he has the balls to ask for public money for a new stadium when they have a perfectly fine stadium.  They might not win 50 games this year...it's really bad.

That stadium is fairly new is it not? Like 30 years old?

Yep.  Opened in 91.  I t was pretty bad at first but they've renovated it a few times since and it has become a pretty good stadium.  And now he's asking this broke ass state to pay for another one.  Insane.

Me too.  And I'm a Sox fan.  Although it doesn't matter how bad they are and how few people come to the games, Reinsdorf will never sell the team as long as he's alive.  It's a sad situation.  I used to absolutely love baseball but now the only baseball I watch is my 7 year old playing and that's much more enjoyable than watching the Sox.

Good article about pitchers going down.
    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40007270/mlb-pitching-injuries-tommy-john-spike-players-weigh-in

Someone mentioned, Wobbie I think?, That Greg Maddux wouldn't get a sniff at getting a to be a MLBer today.  Truth. It's crazy how much that rings true.

If you don't throw high 90's then they don't want you.  If you don't throw as hard as you can, you might now be hitting that on the radar gun either.

Seeing both probable Cy Young winners go down before the season wasn't the ideal but it shows that there is an ongoing problem.

I was curious about him so I read up.

Last 3 games opponents exit velocity...
    April 11 vs. Pirates: 76.4 mph (career-best)
April 16 vs. Rockies: 79.4 mph
    Monday vs. Reds: 77.2 mph

If you cant hit 100mph the ball isn't going over the fence.

Good for him! 93mph fastball.  I like it.

10-16 still is a 63-99 pace, so likely somewhere in the 90s is their loss total.

a little better….same amount out of first….neither team is gonna do anything.

edit: but at least no superstars are wasting their careers on the giants.
