Im surprised Cleveland has put up this much of a fight.  They had a bunch of hits/chances in game 2 and couldnt capitalize.  Took game 3 with some late fireworks.  Still not convinced they have enough runs in them to take 3 more games, but good show so far.
The problem really isn't the run production.  It's the starters not eating enough quality innings,  taxing the pen which is the strength.  I don't think tonight is going to be any better.  Hope I'm wrong.

When we lost Bieber and then Tristin,  I thought we'd be cooked by late May.  The whole season was a surprise.
Yeah, that's exactly it.  No starting pitching at all other than boyd
And then last night Bibee did what we needed and the bats didn't.

    Yup.
Overall though, they put up a bigger fight than I expected to the Yankees.  With a few more timely hits, or with Giancarlo out of the lineup, Cleveland could have taken 4 of those games.

Future looks decent.  Need some starting pitching to develop (obviously not signing or trading for any names).  Maybe Mckenzie can get back to form?
If Clase was as good as Mariano as he was advertised. You guys would be going to the WS.
No way.  We were never going.

And I don't think anyone is saying he is Mariano at this point.  The issue is that good velocity was down 3-4 mph through several games.  But then last night he is back at 101 and takes care of business.   I think he had arm fatigue.

I agree.  They pressed him a bit during the chase, and he didn't seem the same the last few weeks of the season.  Allowed some runs and a couple saves he ran himself out of a jam.

It's a combination of supporting his guy and reality. No player would ever admit his teammate sucks in a public setting in this day and age and at the time he said it, he proably was so excited about what Clase had done up until that point.

Well can’t say I’m disappointed, like usual. The Mets over achieved for sure. No one had them making the playoffs , or beating the brewers or the Phillies. This LA team is ridiculously stacked. That line up is a nightmare. Can’t see the Yankees beating them but I hope they do.

The Mets finally have everything right in their organization - ownership, front office, management, player development…even the “pitching lab” everyone is raving about. They are where the Dodgers were 4-5 years ago and they are following the same trajectory.

Dodgers are going to beat the Yankees, I would say in 5 games. National league was the superior league this season and I’ll be surprised if the Yankees can stop LA. We’ll see.

If you're ranking the fun and unexpected seasons for the Mets, this is right behind 1969 for them and I wasn't even born then.

Given previous comments in the Yankees thread, I am a bit more confident that I should be. I think the Dodgers probably will win, also think the dodgers aren’t at full strength and could be beaten

One thing that potentially favors the Yankees is a lack of left-handed starting pitching on the Dodgers. Facing left-handed starters was problematic for the Yankees during the regular season.

I think the Dodgers pitching is too strong for the yanks. But when they show up, the yankees have bats. This is when I start watching baseball. No need for 160 game season LOL.

me too, I hope it's as memorable as 1947, 1952, 1955, 1956 which all went the distance and had 20 games decided by three runs or less.

As a Braves fan, the final three teams are not ideal.  I'm rooting for Freeman to get another ring though.

Meh. He's not a Brave anymore, so really don't care if he gets a ring.

Honestly, just glad the Mets and Phillies didn't make it.
