I still can't believe that an exhibition game in the middle of the season determines home field advantage for the world series. Selig is an Ass Hat

This really might be the dumbest thing in all of sports. Just amazing how ludicrous it is.

And on the other side of the ball, there is this. How does this even happen?

Yeah, man. I mean, I get pitchers falling off, but an all star pitcher under 30 not being able to get independent league players out a few years later is just insane.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Red Sox and Marlins are discussing a deal that would send Carl Crawford and a prospect to Miami for Hanley Ramirez and Heath Bell

That would be a huge huge trade.

Was just a about to post this. Wow, that would be crazy. Would be a great move for Crawford, Hanley, I'm not so sure.

I can't see the Nationals pulling Strasburg from their rotation in August.
The nationals are only 3.5 games up in the NL East

55 innings until he hits 160.

gotta think bell is untradeable at this point.

also, where would the sox have played ramirez? He was brutal at SS before he got moved. Now that he's bulked up I don't really see him moving off of 3B and the sox have middlebrooks there.

all moot points I guess. gotta figure the trade market will heat up after the weekend.

Verlander is a freak. His 119th pitch in the 8th inning just clocked at 99mph. Unreal how this guy gets stronger as the game goes on.

As a Braves fan, I could tell Bourn would get a hit but I had such a bad feeling when Kimbrel came out. There's just something about a pitcher who was not expecting to pitch for most of the night...
