Hi,
I'm going to be driving into the city for MSGI....planning on being in the city around 2:00 - 3:00 pm (is this early enough?). I found a parking garage online that seems pretty big--it's at 218 W. 31st Street. Does anyone know anything about this garage or any other that would be a good place to park? I just want to be sure I have somewhere to park!

Thanks!

There's one right next to the venue. I think it's 33rd and something (8th?) There's also one next to the Hammerstein Ballroom (34th bet 8th and 9th I believe). Those two I used to park in all the time. But it's been a while. If you don't mind parking a few blocks away, it might cost a little less. Others might have more current experience though.

you can park on the street for free after 6pm or 7pm (a few blocks away)

    mid- high 20's (streets)

FIT BLOCK(fashion school) is on 27th or 28th st.

the block is closed to cars all day till 6pm...then it opens up and you can park on that block

it might take a few circles around to find a spot ,but it can be done

if you're gonn apark in a lot its better to go a few blocks away so you aren't caught in the mad rush after the show
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......

Unless you are coming from Long Island, you are much better off driving to Secaucus and taking a $5.00, ten minute train ride straight to Madison Square Garden

You would disagree about those traveling fron LI to hop on LIRR?

(though I'm planning on driving in from there)

For Long Island, I would definitely suggest LIRR, but the way they have jacked up prices, you may actually find a better deal by driving to a subway station in Queens.

There is a self park lot right around the corner. It will cost you, $45 or more, but worth every penny IMO. You can get in and out of your car as much as you need to all day and then right onto the highway ASAP after the show. Depending on where your coming from (for me CT) and how many people you are, it can be less than mass transit.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
