So Bean from KROQ's morning show, Kevin and Bean, think Neil Young is a genius and Kevin and Ralph hate him. They have a poll up on their webpage. Go vote for Neil!

I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

I don't support anyone who charges that much money for concert tix. His music is great, and he is a legend, but I lost so much respect for him when he jacked his prices up to 150+.

I remember a few years ago he came to the UK and tickets were priced about £80! Acts booked in arenas wil generally charge £45 so it was a massive difference.

The way I see it, musicians have it pretty rough. Their success is a crapshoot at best - and if they make it, they are criticized for attempting to make their own lives as good as they can. There are very few professions out there where people say, "stop trying to make so much money!", but I feel that when you choose this career - if you can charge exorbitant prices - you've earned that right. Making your ticket prices less than those prices is a noble deed, but thanks to scalpers, the average amount of money being paid on a ticket would probably end up the same - 'market price'.

neily is brilliant...saw him in chi last winter and it cost me 50bucks plus ticketmaster fees for ga seats that got me almost front row....a small price imo to see one of the top 5 lyricist and top 5 guitarists...i would've paid 200

I guess Houston got lucky, we had the balcony seating priced at $67 with fees.

Yes, some artists choose to sell tix at really high prices, I agree. I always say if people quit paying over 100 bucks a ticket, I would think they would go down in price. They would have too.

I agree with you for the most part. But charging $85, like Pearl Jam does, is a lot. Charging almost double that is absurd. I'm all about making money, but I'm more about showing loyalty to your fans by allowing as many of them as possible to attend your shows.
