Ok...I have now downloaded columbus, hartford and boston and the quality is not good. I have listened to them on my bad ass computer speakers, my bose headphones and my shitty stock escape speakers and they just aren't as good quality wise.
Do the CDs have better sound than dowloads? The sound is very flat.0 -

Sorry to read that you feel that way but as I said before, it's in the ears of the beholder. The cds are the same quality sound as the flac. Just burned to a cd. Also, as I noted. Most of us hardcore bootleg collectors are used to Brett Eliason from 2000-2006. They were superior recordings. I personally feel that the 2008-2010 are not as superior but are still great quality. I hope you grow to enjoy them more for what they are. I tend to avoid comparing sound quality to former shows for this reason because then one sets themselves up for disappointment.0 -
For sound quality sake, what is the best way to make electronic versions of the songs from the CDs for play on an IPod?0

If anyone can comment, I'd like to know how long does it normally take to get this emailed to me (folks who have bought the 2010 downloads?)
Thanks as always
Scott in Boston
LOL! Dude I did the same thing u did. Kept waiting for an email with a link that never came. Actually what u have to do is once u finalize your purchase the link that just says "Download" is right there on the same page towards the bottom. If u go back to the "Goods" Section and click on "Orders" on the left side of your screen, then go down to the bottom where today's date/order # is, then click on that and there should be an option there to download again. I did the same thing, I kept waiting for this email with a link incorporated, but they must have stopped doing that for a while now. Anyways, I hope this helps. Later
F$E..
I so have to buy you a drink...!
without reading your advice, I would have been waiting for days!
when did they switch to that crazy ass method..?
The used to email you the download link ...yes?
The "download" word is imbedded in the product description... who would think it was a hyperlink to the download?
thank you thank you thank you!!!!!"This here's a REQUEST!"

My friend and I just went through the Bristow boot...there is not a flaw to be found. Every instrument has a comfortable spot in the mix. It is perfect...especially 'cause we were there!Bristow, VA (5/13/10)0

I agree with that. 2009/2010 have no artwork to accompany the flac and mp3 digital releases. They made them for 2008 in a belated fashion but did so none the less.0 -

Ya know after St. Louis. which sounded a bit better than the first couple of boots and obviously better than 2008, I thought we were headed in the right direction. Nowhere but up. Unfortunately Boston sounds very hollow. Very echoey or tinney and distant. The crowd noise I could care less about. As a musician myself I pay for these bootlegs to hear the band with a little bit of the crowd mixed in. Anyone that says they want more crowd noise should go straight to the audience recordings imo. Anyways, I'm still very happy to have to ability to get these live shows so soon after the shows are over, but in the past we got them almost sooner with better quality. What is going on here? Matt seems to be the only one that is either well mic'ed or just mixed the best, cuz everyone else is drowned out.
A poster named reborn fixer wrote this in the Columbus 2010 bootleg thread which was articulated perfectly. I couldn't have said better myself nor agree completely. Anyways, this is what he said. Later
"I am still extremely happy that we are getting official boots, but I agree that the sound is a tad "off". The different channels blend together more now, into a wall of noise ... I like the 2000 and 2003 boots, where you could distinctly hear Mike, Stone, and Ed's guitars. More headphone friendly. I used to focus on Mike or Stone's channel, depending on the tune and my mood. Now, it takes more effort to hear the details. About the only thing I do appreciate on the 2008/2009 boots is Matt's drum sound, which is pretty solid. I am still buying all the boots, but perhaps the sound could be cleaned up a bit in 2010?Foo4Everlong0 -
