WOW ended up being a GREAT SHOW... that 2nd encore is as good as it gets! other than NO MORE Of course
I hate to be blunt and I'm not trying to piss on the show but encore 2 sucked cept for no more. I understand you have to play the hits for the first timers but really to play them all in a row is sorta throwing in the towel to me.
i disagree. i've been a fan of the band a long time, and i will be seeing my 16th show in va. i would be happy with this set list. i actually hope for something similar. in my opinion some of the hits...black, porch, alive, ritfw etc. are the best songs to hear live. if i didn't get them i would be disappointed. there is a reason they play them frequently, and it's because they rock when they play them live. if i want to hear some obscure b-sides, i'll just listen to them from my vast collection of bootlegs. i say, keep 'em coming.....now, no more, i could do without that.
if you think that that was a bad encore, you go to too many shows and need a break. that was insane.
i hope they play Black, Alive, Rockin, Yellow, and Betterman at every show you ever go to! and every show i ever go to because they are some of the best songs on earth.

Just got back... I liked the main set a lot... encores were felt somewhat blah but RITFW and YL were pretty solid at the end. Maybe its because No More is like being punched in the gut -- in the last two years I've been blessed with both performances of it. Bushleager or something wouldve done just fine there
BTW Ed flubbed quite a few lyrics today... even flow, better man, just breathe... sometimes he was just off in space i think like just breathe and betterman he extended some parts i THINK on accident.

just breathe should be retired already. maybe i'm the only one that hates it, but i recall from seeing it both of the philly shows i went to, it really seemed to suck the life out of the show for a few minutes. same thing happens when they play no more.
They play them to bring in the casual fan and to make the show "sold out" so can they can make more money. If you can't see that then keep drinking the kool aid and one day realize its all bout making money and not bout the fans. If they didn't play the hits they'd be using backdrops at venues like msg and td garden and staples center. Where they will only get 15,000 people instead of 20,000 people. I'm not being a dick or pissing on the show its just me being blunt. Its a great show for a first timer. Give me the bsides anyday of the week. Shit SOLAT319 is happy she saved money after looking at the seltist and she's probably been to 30+ shows.
I've only been to 9 shows and philly 2,3 and 4 set the bar for me personally.
Even dr. Sluggo said the encore was meh and he was at the concert
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
seriously how much would an encore suck if they came out and played only songs 90% of the audience has never heard and doesnt want to hear? makes 0 sense. talk about sucking the energy out of a venue.
they've already got your money. they play it FOR THE FANS

yeah i don't understand this logic. how can you be a pearl jam fan and not like alive, black, free world and ledbetter? these are some of their best songs. would you seriously rather hear sweet lew again? that would excite about 100 people in the crowd...out of the 15-20,000 that are there. buzzkill.

go buy a ticketmaster and just watch the person next to you the whole night. . I bet you 100 bucks the only time they'd rock out is during the hits. Most casual fans take a break during a song like sad or others but the minute they hear those opening notes to black they'll sing their little hearts out. I saw a person next to me at msg texting during wma but for given to fly or evenflow they quickly put their blackberry away and rocked out. They guy thought wma was a cover song. Lol

its called being a fan and not a elitist person. Their are many others on here who feel the way I do but don't have the balls to say shit bout how sucky the hits are at a concert cause of people like you.

they play so many songs there is enough to go around. they played fucking God's Dice for chrissakes. what more can you ask for?
i usually go with casual fans and would be dissappointed if they didnt get to hear Black or Alive.
i respect the hell out of this band for playing songs the people want to hear when i know they might be a little tired of some of them (although honestly you cant tell from the way they play them). glad they dont go the douchebag route and only play new stuff to appease the self-entitled front row crowd and refuse to play the songs that got them where they are (and what a lot of people payed to see).
How filled was the arena/where were your guys 10c seats?
Just got back. Arena was pretty full. As someone mentioned the very back of the upper deck was blocked off but other than that it was full. I was expecting half full because of the predictions on here.
262xxx got me floor, row 23. But on th aisle so could see perfectly.
Solid show. Solid crowd. I like the hits. Nothing wrong with that at all.

You just said what I've been saying the past 4 posts. This band could play alive in its sleep its gotten so old. You don't think they'd like to play a cover song or some rare bside say like bugs instead of daughter the main set. Philly 4 went bat shit crazy for bugs and sweet lew. It was so cool to see jeff sing and ed nail bugs.

im not so sure about that. i cant believe they play Even Flow every night if they hate it so much. i think they honestly enjoy it, maybe even to the point that they dont give a shit about what the tenclub snobs think about it. plus i've seen them look pretty bored and disinterested playing some rare stuff before. its probably hard to find a lot of lesser known songs that the whole band enjoys playing.

I totally agree with your last point. Its probably very hard to say hey who wants to play bugs or outta my mind or half full. They have so many cool songs that never ever will get played. Like how often is dirty frank or push me pull me played. Shit even RVM isn't played a lot and that's consider a hit.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
yeah. plus they probably forget how to play half of them until they rehearse a little. wit every new album they probably forget a little more. but i could definitely stand to hear Push me pull me and 1/2full more. an the fact the Immortality is so rarely played is a tragedy.
dont have any problem to see this setlist in a show,im going in the summer!!
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
yeah. plus they probably forget how to play half of them until they rehearse a little. wit every new album they probably forget a little more. but i could definitely stand to hear Push me pull me and 1/2full more. an the fact the Immortality is so rarely played is a tragedy.
I love that breakdown mike does with pj drummers during immortality. Fucking badass. Even RVM has gotten better.

on the setlist it said "short" next to wishlist. they knew what they were doing.
only set difference was porch was moved to the end of e1 instead of mid-e2.
