Are Latinos Racist?

I’ve been on a few web sites today checking out some of the protest the Latinos have organized....I don’t see any black , white, or Asian people in the crowd? The Tea Party is often labeled racist because some people feel there are not ENOUGH of the other ethnic groups attending the TP protest.
So my question to those that say the Tea Party is Racist....does this apply to the Latinos protesting also?

When the Tea Party movement FIRST started were there any Asian, Latino or black people in the crowd? Just like with the Tea Party aerial give it some time. :D

No, I believe many of the latino protests are in respect to specific laws targeting them. Though I don't know what web sites you visited and it is possible that anyone could be racist. The tea party is trying reclaim the old america and that is often interpreted as racist, I'm sure many in the tea party are not racist or vice versa. America is about individuals and people should be judged accordingly.

Funny you should say that, because most of the people I know protesting the bill in Arizona are white.

My boss wondered what would happen if the governor of Washington passed a law saying the police could pull over anyone who looked like a suspicious Canadian lol
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Sorry, but that's a stupid question. You may as well ask "Are whites racist?", or "Are blacks racist?"

First, how can you possibly classify an entire people as either racist or not?

Secondly, are you talking about individual racism or institutional racism?

Individually, any human being on this planet can be a racist or bigot towards others. Institutionally, it's not possible for latinos or blacks in America to be racists. If you doubt that ask yourself if the Hispanic community could ever pass a law making it legal to profile white people. They can't, they don't have that power - only whites in America have the power for institutional racism.

Lastly, there were white people in the pictures I saw, maybe you're on a biased website :)

Also, people don't claim that the TP is racist BECAUSE there aren't many black people in the crowd. They recognize there aren't black people in the crowd BECAUSE the TP overall may have racist views.

That's not to say every single person in the TP is a racist.

However, check out the results of the study that found:

"Among whites who approved of the Tea Party, 35 percent said they believe Blacks to be hard working; 45 percent said they believe Blacks are intelligent; 41 percent said they believe Blacks are trustworthy"*

In other words, the majority said they don't think blacks are hard-working or intelligent or trustworthy. Those are the attitudes that cause people to claim racism. The overly white make-up of the crowd is just the result of that.

Here is how you eliminate Race from the Arizona Bill...
They have already modified the Bill to state that an officer cannot ask for current citizenship status unless in the act of a traffic violation or arrest or other acts where Law Enforcement Officers typically interact with the General public. Everyone okay with that, right? Good.
Now... to eliminate race... make everyone... that is EVERYONE in Arizona carry with them a document that states they are a legal resident of the state. Lations, blacks, whites, Asians, Lutherans, Martians, EVERYONE.
When they are stopped by Arizona Troopers or Phoenix Police and such, they MUST present these documents. This means that is Joe Methhead is stopped for driving a car with a busted tailight... he must present the proper papers. If John Q. Militiaman is pulled over for failing to stop at a Stop Sign... he must produce the proper paperwork. If little 7 year old Johhnny Aryan is stopped because he is riding his skateboard on public property where 'No Skateboarding' is allowed... HE must produce the proper Identification. Failure to do so by ANYONE without the proper documentation will result in incarceration until documented proof is presented. If no documentation is provided... the person is deported to Mexico.
    Everybodys happy.

Where's the current bill going to drop them off? Mexico, right?
I had no amendment for that part. Just dump them off where they were originally going to dump them... Mexico... right?
Joe Methhead with the toothless grin and White Power tatts... Mexico. John Q. Militiaguy and his illegaly modified AR-15 and packets of Anthrax... Mexico. Little Johnny Aryan skaterboy... Mexico. Round them all up and treat them all the same.
That is how you eliminate race from the equation.

No, aerial, Latinos aren't racist. No entire race is racist.

Why are you beating a dead horse with this nonsense about people saying the Tea Party is racist because there are no people of color in the crowd. We have already established in one thread after another that that's not what people are saying, and Michelle has now reiterated it here.
Secondly, are you talking about individual racism or institutional racism?

Great question, but I think you're getting ahead of yourself. First you should ask whether she recognizes the distinction.

I think the people are crossing the border in order to get away from their own kind - so to answer your question, yes they're racists :D

Yeah... Mexico is kinda fucked up. I'm betting that if aerial lived in the rural southern states of Mexico... her fucking husband would be hopping the fence in Arizona to make money to send home to her and their kids. I know if I was living in Mexico, I'd probably be trying to get the fuck out, too.

Yes indeed Cosmo. It's the same group that touts how wonderful or nation is, was and can be, are the same group who don't want to include others in it. Oh sweet irony!

Sometimes the easiest common ground to find is that on which many can agree with the simplest terms - in this case, ignorance.
