Talk about a bittersweet weekend! My fiance and I were scheduled to fly back from New Orleans today (to St. Paul, MN) after a fabulous weekend, which included, among other things, getting engaged and seeing PJ at Jazz Fest!

As of an hour ago, I had 10 Club tickets to PJ in St. Louis, a room at the Omni with a great group rate, and a flight from St. Paul to St. Louis in the afternoon for under $150.

But here I am...sitting at a shitty New Orleans airport hotel, because my flight got cancelled today and won't get back into Minneapolis-St. Paul until tomorrow...after my flight to St. Louis would have left. I even tried booking a flight TO St. Louis, but that didn't work either. We had such a great weekend, PJ was awesome, the town was great, and of course, it had to end on the sourest note of me now having to miss PJ in St. Louis.

I suppose a carefree, smooth and great weekend was too much to ask. In the words of George Costanza: "God would never let me be that lucky."

I agree, it is about a 10 hour drive from New Orleans to St. Louis straight up Highway 55.

    Hope you make it!

Looking at the Arch out my window right now... It's about 9.5 hours from Bourbon Street. Do it. once you hit 55 just stay going north.

Did you try asking Delta to put you on a flight from a different carrier? Similar situation happened to me last year for the Ed show in Memphis. The first two reps I talked to stonewalled me, then I got one sympathetic to my situation who explained they were there to be an advocate to customers. She got me on an early morning flight eith a different airline, and I made it in time to head to the pre-party. Don't know what I would have done without her. Even though you've already talked to the airline, it's worth a second or third shot if it helps you make it to the show. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. :-)

You're missing a concert, but you're still in a hotel room with your new fiance aren't you?
