NEWLY DISCOVERED SPECIES OF SPIDER NAMED AFTER NEIL YOUNG
A newly discovered species of spider has been named after Neil Young, according to Reuters.

An East Carolina University biologist -- and Neil Young fan -- named Jason Bond discovered the previously undocumented species of trapdoor spider, and named it Myrmekiaphila neilyoungi. Bond confirmed through DNA testing that the spider was "an identifiable, separate species of spider within the trapdoor genus."

Bond said in a statement, "There are rather strict rules about how you name new species. As long as these rules are followed you can give a new species just about any name you please. With regards to Neil Young, I really enjoy his music and have had a great appreciation of him as an activist for peace and justice."

    ...don't know about that, but I do know that the spider is only found in "Alabama." In fact, it's only found in Jefferson county where I am currently sitting and typing. :D :cool:
