They may let you in with a small bag. If not, try to get a locker down in Penn. Station. Bring cash if your going to drink at MSG. At least $8 or $9 a beer. Go to Hard Rock in Times Square. Sit next to Mikes guitar in the bar and have a few good drinks before the show. Thats what I plan on doing. Or may hit Wishlist pre-party if not too far from MSG.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I have once gone in with a huge paper bag full of NEW clothes. I would not think it would be a problem. They are picky about bringing outside food though. And the occasional gun.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
  • MSG is pretty good about regular size bags...

As long as it can fit in front of or under your seat, I;ve never had a problem...

Beer is pricey, as stated earlier...

Blarney Stone on 8th between 30th and 31st is one of my pre MSG go to places for brew that won't kill your wallet

Especially on weeknights, you can usually get pitchers of something (Bud/Bud Light) for a reasonable price

I had friends bring a 1.5 foot bong into msg for Phish New Years eve 2002. So it all depends on who "searches" you.

cool, thanks for the help, got a little nervous because i know that they frown upon schoolbags at the stadiums down here. im used to those high prices (8 something a beer at lolla) so i will be prepared for that.

Everyne at that show could have been arrested. They turned the lights on between sets and you literally couldnt see the other side of the venue from all the smoke.

Yeah, Yankee Stadium (for instance) will not let you in with a small bag/backpack

Some years ago (OK a lot of years ago) I brought in a big shopping bag -- it was around Christmas and I had hit Macy's that afternoon. Was walking past the Garden when I decided to buy a ticket from a scalper to see Paul McCartney. Funny thing is, a bunch of us in my section turned out to have counterfeit tickets. This was in the days before they scanned them at the entrance. Anyway, the Garden people actually found seats for everybody even though we didn't have legitimate tickets! I can't imagine them doing that these days. But back to the bag question -- it wouldn't hurt to call the box office to check on the current rules. Things everywhere have gotten a lot more strict since 9/11.

They will have ushers that check your bags before hand... for Rangers games they check the bag, and let you in.. I've seen plenty of people with backpacks.. it's Manhattan.. bound to have people with backpacks..

    Beer is round $9.00

    The Night however, priceless.

I second the blarney stone for cheap drinks, and there are a few dives over on 9th that are cheap. Call the venue about the bag. And have a back up plan incase they dont let you in.

    Rent-A-Locker ( 212-947-0026 )
    $5/bag/day
Located on 35th & Broadway, nearest subway station would be Penn Station via Line 1/2/3 9the red line), it is the station right below Time Sq on the subway map

7th and Broadway, J & S Rent a Locker, they have a daily bag storage service for $5 per bag per day. Their website is http://www.jsrentalocker.com

not sure if these are still around, but friends used them in 2007. All lockers in public places have been removed for obvious reasons.
