No bootlegs? I really expected news today.

Eve of the tour. I'm very surprised we didnt hear about 2010 bootlegs today. Weird. I'll be extremely disappointed if they dont do them. most of the taping community has faded away. would be a shame.

EDIT: I just got a reply from Kufala. All is good!

SO cool of them to always reply to our inquiries. Wish other businesses were the same way ;)

    yeah, i guess it would be nice if they gave us a heads up that they wouldnt be releasing them, so the tapers can be out in full force, but I see no reason they wouldn't release them. They have released every tour since 2000 except the 2004 VFC tour and 2007 Euro tour, right?
    words seem so out of place.

    Correct. But last year we got news the day before the tour started. Odd.

    who said they will not?i bet they will be bootlegs this year ,the announcement day for that has nothing to do with taping the show..

    What makes anyone think there won't be bootlegs this tour?? Did something happen to create this idea..I don't see why they wouldn't be doing them

    Should be bootlegs, why stop now? The band makes a few extra $$, and we get a nice copy of the show.

    That may be an assumption that they may a few extra $$.

    The cost to have them sent to another board to be mixed (separate from the soundboard for the venue sound) and cost of an operator and mixing and uploading and so on... who knows if they're gonna do it. Or... maybe they'll record each instrument just blindly, and if there's enough people willing to PAY to get a show, then maybe they'll have someone do the mix and work from it then. ...this is all speculation though.

    Because the tour starts today and in the past the bootlegs have always been announced BEFORE the tour started.

    I dont know if this little bit of info helps but I live in Kansas City and the local radio station is giving away Pearl Jam tickets every few hours this weekend. You have to be like the 9th caller and if you win the tickets then they also say they will give the bands official bootleg copy of the show when it becomes available. I dont know if they are assuming they are doing the bootlegs or they know for a fact.

    I could be wrong about this, but I believe the tour officially starts with the KC show Monday. 10c tix weren't offered for Jazzfest were they (again I may be wrong, if so, oops)?
    Having said this, I would expect the bootleg anoouncement tomorrow, or Monday at the latest.

    for the last couple of tours all festivals have been included in the bootleg set. last year the first show (Calgary) was a festival and the year before Bonnaroo was included as well.

    pearl jam doesn't care about the $$$, never have...they love their fans and they'll put the bootlegs out for sure.

    Kufala have nothing to do with how the bootlegs sound, they only press and distribute them.

    The band's own sound team record and mix the shows.

    I agree that the 2008 boots left a lot to be desired sonically, but it's not Kufala's fault.
