    I don't see why not. It not a professional grade with telephoto lens.

    Most venues charge a band a fee to record video at their shows.

    Because of this, fan video recorders are usually disallowed by the venue, even if still photography is allowed.

    A band can usually dictate the still photography policy, but the video policy is most often dictated by the venue.
  • i've brought my flip to many shows and have been asked by security to stop filming at two shows: the spectrum night 3, and muse at msg last month. both times we were within the first three rows of the floor and unfortunately, security chose to hang out right in front of us. i tried covering the red light on the front of the camera in an effort to hide the fact that i was filming again, only to realize later that one of the mics is part of it, and the normally great sound was awful.

    i'm bringing the flip to hartford, newark & both msg's, along with my lumix and hope to capture some great vids.

  • Used my Flip at Chicago last fall...just for a few songs. Worked great and sound was surprisingly really good. Those things don't have great zoom but I was impressed with the quality.

    Technically you're not suppose to video shows.....so to answer your question....are they allowed: no.
    Like a word misplaced...nothing said...what a waste
  • i've got a flip...the flip is basically a video version of a digital camera, so that being said i don't see how it can be a problem...even if it is, it's very easy to conceal so enforcing a no film policy on a flip would be next to impossible to enforce...i'm looking forward to the flux of youtube videos taken with flips with actually decent audio (until people start overdubbing them with the boot a few days later)

    I'm kinda surprised you would ask questions about what cameras to bring to a Pearl Jam show, because listed in your sig, you've been to dozens & dozens of Pearl Jam shows in the USA. All indoor show's. The rules are the same every where's. Everybody has been taking pictures for many, many year's. It's ok. Only rule they inforce is :

    CAMERA POLICY FOR CONCERT ATTENDEES

    * Small, handheld cameras welcome.
    * No flash in the first 20 rows.
    * No detachable lenses.
    * No professional still or recording cameras.
    * No sticks.
    * No video cameras.

    Holding something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images ... hoto&img=2 with a chance at seating in the first few row's while security is tight & they see your camera glued up to your face, taking video footage, facing Pearl Jam without moving, they will tap you and make you stop taking video. If you're on the lower bowl, but sitting @ the ends of the row's and security guards come up & down all the time, again, they will tap you to stop taking video.

    If you're going to take photos, your camera is good to go. If you're there to take video, best of luck the whole night.
  • I've noticed with these little cameras that the sound is surprisingly good. However, when you're shooting in dark venues the darks get very pixelated. Also the zoom is horrible. Not the most ideal camera for concerts, especially if your 10c number is as bad as mine but it's a cool little camera that fits in your pocket and is super easy to use.

    probably not a HD, i found on the HD, that poorly light footage doesn't pixelate that bad...there are SD versions...you're probably talking about those...

    the flip is a "video camera", yet it's also a "small, handheld camera"...so which does it apply?
