In defiance of the new bill in Arizona and in support of the Arizona citizens who will face harassment every time they step out their doors, the call is out for everyone to ask the question: "Do I look "illegal?" during the week of May 1st to May 8th. The focus is on raising awareness on the day of May 1st but by the overwhelming response, putting out this message is extending for the rest of the week.

Post the question as your status on Facebook. Throughout the day, send the question out on Twitter. Ask one another the question, "Do I look illegal?" Hopefully, this will get all of us thinking and discussing what exactly does "illegal" look like..

Finally, wear shirts, buttons or hold signs saying, "Do I look 'illegal'?" and take pictures to either send to Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona and/or post them here..

I'm done with the bigots on this board- and that includes you.

The debate has been about the bill-
-53% of the people who voted for the bill feel the bill will violate the civil rights of many, yet they still voted for it!
-Many police officers are against this bill (yes some are for it)- that means some will be profiling others wont.
-Police officers cannot deport anyone- resources are going to be tied up, because people like you will be calling the police every time you see someone like me (dark skinned) walking around your neighborhood...You don't see that?
    - Bill was introduced by people associated with white supremacist groups- ONE MILLION Dollars was donated by White Supremacist groups to push this bill---- Yet you, do not denounce that!!!

Lastly I SUPPORT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOING ITS JOB!! Which means Deporting illegal immigrants on a daily bases!! I am not arguing that!!! I am arguing the bill!!And how it creates more division amongst Americans........
I support amnesty, but the law is the law and as long as it is fair I will support it......If I disagree I will fight the law with protest....

I am marching on Sat for my father, who was once an illegal immigrant ...who slept in fields for the first 4 years he was in this country ...Has worked every Fu@!ing day since touching the soils of this land....Who worked for peanuts and was Proud of it! Who left the love of his life behind in another world, while he fought to put food on the table...sending all of his earnings back to her...... Who came here from hundreds of miles away to give me and my family a better shot at life..... I am telling my father thank you for risking your life.
Till this day my father in his late 70's lives and dies by the American Flag..... He gives everything back to this country, he doesn't see any bad in this country...he's sees it as paradise and as the most beautiful land in the world....If he sees a piece of paper on the floor, he has to pick it up because he say's this country should always remain clean and beautiful, just like the day he first stood on this lands, and viewed it with vast wonder and amazement........He puts this country above EVERYTHING!! except for his family.... My father can barely speak English (really can't), he is a US citizen(just became it about 7 years ago- probably the proudest day of his life)..... Yet what he doesn't realize is that a lot of people Here don't like his kind. A lot of people here think he came here to receive things for free .... In all the years my father has now been in this country - he has never Once gone to the Hospital, never once received any types of social services, never once been in jail, never once asked for anything from anyone, never once failed to give back to this country (including lending one of his sons to the US Air Force), and never once said anything negative about this country!

I march for all of the good people of the world, who risk there life's to come to this great nation... I march for my father and I march for a better America........

I know not all people who come to this country have good intentions, I am not blind......... but the vast majority of people who come here come here to work...and that's all.... they aren't trying to change this land.... the most important thing to them is putting food on the table....
Put yourself in there shoes....if you didn't have food to put on the table, if you didn't have running water, and were dying of hunger - would you sit back and die or would you take your chances?

I asked a simple question. I asked what you are marching about and you have the nerve to call me a bigot. you do not know me. You know nothing about what I have been through. I come from a hard working family myself. I have dedicated the past 10 + years to defense of this nation. Some my closet friends are from Mexico and countries in Latin America. So why don't you try thinking about what you say first, ASSHOLE.

You have the nerve to ask me about this march, when we have been discussing the issues through out the board for the last few days.
Should I be sympathetic or accepting of all your comments because you know a Mexican? I have laid out the facts, and most of them are factually proven to be directly associated with hate, yet you do not denounce that...
At this point I really don't care what you think about me-I have tried to have a discussion on the facts, on the real issues specifically related to this bill and you and the other bigots, don't want anything to do with reason and common sense..... you rather support hate, then to see real progress....
I am not questioning your struggles or your efforts- I am directly calling you a Bigot, in regards to this bill. You support the bill, even though it offers no real solutions and even though it violates the civil rights of many Americans!!!
I support the FEDS to deport illegal immigrants (daily).... what kind of job are they doing is another question....this bill is not in anyway helping with the divide of our nation, with the real issues, and it promotes hate.... Which you support!!!
I am an asshole because I support progress..... Well I am one good God loving Asshole ....

My comments are in rebuttle of yours, so since I do not agree with you, I am a bigot. You need to get a reality check. My support of a more secure boarder in know way means my support of the bill. Keep telling yourself that you are doing what is right. You seem like a self-righteous ass anyways. All I keep reading in your posts is the white man is doing this to get rid ofbrown skinned people. I looked for your claim that a white supremacist group donated a milliton dollars and asked for a source of this infor. No reply yet from you. Am I supposed to go with the words of a racist man like yourself.

I'm done with you, like you are done with me. I have never, look through all my post, said white people were racist. You may feel like I am associating hate with White people, but that is your opinion.... I am not talking about white people - I am talking about America... There are white people in my family ...why would I have a problem with people in my family? My beautiful niece comes from a white mother.... why would I want to associate her with racism?? I am not promoting my back round.... I am promoting progress.. I am trying to help victims ... I am trying to move this country in a better direction...
If you really cared about the issues- you would take the time to find the answers to your questions throughout the two main threads on this issue... I am sure You will find it, just look.

I am done with you and there is no need to go back an forth on this thread.... You can do that on the other two threads.... We simply see the world in two different ways.....you represent the people who were afraid to allow blacks into US society, and I represent the people who were accepting of them as my human brothers.
I like progress...... in "my way" ....and you like it in "your way"..... enough said... its as simple as that....

Whoa! I live in L.A. I see frequent demonstrations about many issues. So I clicked onto this thread to see what you were marching for (or against.)

Instead of reading about your march, I was treated to your angry vitriol about readers not magically knowing what is in your head.

i support the OP and this march. this law has less to do with shoring up the borders and more to do with racism and racial profiling, straight up. and dirtie frank, i am pretty sure you knew what he was talking about. and i think you are baiting him, which is pretty immature...you have been participating in those two threads so you sould not play stupid and act as if you have no clue what he was talking about.

Toni maybe if the US puts greater restrictions on our borders it might force the mexican goverment to do something to improve the lives of the people that live there, I have been in mexico and it has great resources
that it could capitalize on to create jobs and a better living for the people of mexico, just a thought.

You know what man ? Even though I dissagree with you as far as the bill goes and the whole thing about it being linked to whitsupremecy groups. I know that' what MSNBC said in that link you posted but people are trying to make this an issue about race. The media ( especially the left )will take things out of context and simply lie especillay if it's an agenda they support.I could be wrong, but all im saying is do your research.
But what i really wanted to say was I respect you for your passion on this issue, and I respect you for getting off your ass and couch and exercising your rights as an american to go out and protest peacefully.

that aside, i respect the op as well and i hope something good comes out of this and i hope those in governmenten hear their voices like a vast majority of the american people have heard their voices. be careful out there today...[/

Me getting soft? Mmmmmmm maybe, but I doubt it  I just like seeing people that are compassionate like the op is. Even though I really disagree with him as far thinking that there will be racial profiling. But if it does happen I will be the first to say that I was wrong.
Thanks man... :D for the nice comment though I didn't think you had it in ya

Lastly I SUPPORT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOING ITS JOB!! Which means Deporting illegal immigrants on a daily bases!!

    1) The bill is pretty ridiculous
    2) The Federal government hasn't been doing there job, which is why states like Arizona are trying to deal with it themselves...poorly it seems, from their standpoint, they are at least trying something other than the blind eye the feds have been giving the situation.

This is what happens when you have a law that people support that you don't apply...you get fractions creating their own laws.

the federal gov't only enforces laws that hurt corporations ... if enforcing of laws hurt corporations - not a good chance they will be enforces: see cheap labour and environment for examples ...

You know what man ? Even though I dissagree with you as far as the bill goes and the whole thing about it being linked to whitsupremecy groups. I know that' what MSNBC said in that link you posted but people are trying to make this an issue about race. The media ( especially the left )will take things out of context and simply lie especillay if it's an agenda they support.I could be wrong, but all im saying is do your research.
But what i really wanted to say was I respect you for your passion on this issue, and I respect you for getting off your ass and couch and exercising your rights as an american to go out and protest peacefully.
    God bless...

Thanks for the kind words... It really does mean a lot.... Hopefully one day we can find the truth..... until then lets just keep pushing the issues and hope that the truth pops out......
