I'm 24 and I'm taking my grandma to MSG1, and she is very excited about it.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

  • when i went to the Boston '06 show @ the Garden there was some gray haired OLD TIMERS there. Had to be in their 60's! i had a little chuckle and thought that it was pretty cool!!

no, but the young people will TELL you it's shit, but you'll laugh at them, because you'll know the truth.

My parents, in their late 50s, are going to a handful of shows this summer (not PJ, but respectable old-folk rock, that i unfortunately can't afford, ie the Poice.)

Just what is "respectable old-folk rock"? (asked the 46 y/o who's taking his 17 y/o son to his first PJ concert @ Hartford this June...)

Oh, by the way, in the pit for Linkin Park last summer, on the floor for Dropkick Murphy's in March w/ my son and saw Chris Cornell solo in an Albany bar and the VR and AIC show 3 times last year... Are those "respectable" shows? Just curious...

Dead is the correct answer. I shall also play soccer until I am crippled!

I'm not old, at all, really. I'm 19. But something I absolutely love seeing is the diversity of people's ages at a concert. I find it really interesting that people of all ages enjoy the same music, and are all touched the same way! I'll be rocking til' I die, there's no way I won't.
So, to answer the question: There's no specific age where you're too old!

Here's a spin on the question: How young is too young?

That's gonna depend on the show...

I'd bring a 12 year old to see KISS, but not Kid Rock...

Kiss was funny when I saw them with Posion a while back. I'd seen Posion previously and there was a lot of swearing and stuff from Brett, but KISS is a "family" band now... No swearing... The cash cow that Gene Simmons and the boys have evolved into wouldn't allow swearing so as not to alienate parents bringing their kids... Pretty funny really...

I'd rate Pearl Jam a PG-13 kind of band... Eddie can go off with the profanity a bit sometimes...

Albany 06: "Shouldn't you be home getting laid..."

MSG 03: The whole play leash you pussies rant...

    etc...

25 is too old. i only have a few years left

    Wha??

Music is universal. Music is something that unites us. Music is art. Music has been found in every culture that has ever existed. The human brain is wired for music appreciation. Music speaks to people on so many levels.

That doesn't go away when you reach a certain age.

I'll go with the others here, dead.

You can go at any age, but if you're over 40 and in the front rows, the young grommets will start calling you names on the board apparently. <smirk> Not gonna link that thread, 'cos if you haven't seen it, you're better off.

But as Ed said when accepting the Environmentalist of the Year Award:
"I'm gonna take my board and hit 'em head upside the fuckin' head, because that's bullshit, you gotta respect your elders."

    THAT is worth a link:

How old is too old to go to a Pearl Jam concert?
Also, will you stop going to see them when you reach that age?

as far as i'm concerned, you're never too old to go to any concert. and as for not seeing pearl jam anymore...i've already stopped seeing them. i'm tired of having to travel to see them, and if the ticket prices keep climbing, well there's another reason not to see them.

my last pearl jam show was buffalo '03. best show from them i had ever seen, so why not end it on a high note?

As long as they keep playing, I will keep going. Look at it like this, have you ever been to a Springsteen show? That is one diverse crowd. I have been next to some real old timers(Mid 60's maybe even 70) and they rocked out.
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

since the men in pearl jam are older than I am, I would have to say that they will make that decision for me.

My first concert was when I was 13 ... my dad had a client who had season tickets to the Hollywood Bowl ... 1965 THE BEATLES...

I have NEVER stopped seeing LIVE music ... why do so now?

Now I'm in my 50's ... Pearl Jam is the Greatest Band in the World today ... why would I stop now?

It's INSTILLED ... to wanna LIVE!!!!!!!!!!
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!
