Valuing a ticket at "market value" and trading it for something that costs $200 is tantamount to reselling a ticket for profit

I am confused as to how a ticket could be equal in value to an itouch.

I'm confused. A ticket for this show was .. what .. $75? An iPod Touch (it's not an iTouch) starts at $199. Maybe you meant to barter for an iPod Shuffle? ;)

I just checked ebay. A used 8 gb i touch is going for $71.00. Give the guy a break. You could be sitting in the 3rd- 7th row with that #. He's apologized which makes him 8-) .

You were asking for an item sold in stores for $190 in exchange for your $85 ticket (with fees), and you mentioned your low member number to help get bites. I don't think there was any misunderstanding. The item you wanted was worth 2x the ticket price... no potential for it to be equivalent in value, except if used, which you did not say was what you were looking for. You didn't make any mention of "please barter your used one, to keep this a fair trade for my TenClub ticket" or something else explaining that you're looking to keep this within the TC rules for TC tickets.

Also, you said "and yes.....i have been given permission to proceed with this barter". Seeing as how your thread was locked, this is a less than believable statement. Who "gave permission" that you mentioned?

i emailed 10c and they stated that as long as the ticket was being received by another 10c member and not for more than face value, they would have no problem with it. at no point did i ask for a person to purchase the itouch.....usually people have items they no longer use or are looking to upgrade.

i had no idea this would become "internet drama".........i must admit, it has been interesting.

i can check a couple more items off my "pj life list"

SURE!! I have a Shuffle -- the kind that holds 500 songs (2GB?). It's pre-loaded with all of PJ's studio albums and two bootlegs, plus a bunch of other music I like. 8-)

Careful with trading anything with PJ's music on it, except for old boots no longer sold. I know of one person on the board who got in serious trouble after doing that. ...and I mean, got in trouble from the top of the PJ organization.

No problem -- we can make that one well cared-for, fully empty, ready to re-load Shuffle, (which currently contains only completely legally-purchased music). :)

By the way, I'm not the most technologically savvy person, but my impression was that an iPod only can be updated on the machine where it is registered. I was assuming that meant it only could be registered on one machine at a time, so if one chose to sell or trade an iPod it would have to be de-registered and, I also assumed, its contents would not transfer. Am I completely mistaken?

nope you are correct....you can also authorize other computers to play that iPod, but they have to be authorized from the original computer. also, completely legal music downloads are IMPOSSIBLE TO LEGALLY to get to other people so I don't think that helps the OP
