It might happen, I heard something about Northern Europe, so I would'nt be surprised. I know it's Europe this summer anyhow. I just hope they could swing by Tel Aviv this time... :)

Neil and Dylan - nice! Robbie and Interpol - not cool..

As for Pearl Jam playing there I can totally see it happening.

I also think it's something the band would want to tackle. Would be difficult, but I think good for the band and area in general.

i sa no chance. if you remember some of their comments after it they spoke of the festival being disorganized and the barriers not being set up right. unless the people running this festival have changed i'd say no chance of them going back.
  • Is anyone else sick of festivals? Boy, I sure am.

It seems like the trend these days..."oh let's just throw a bunch of bands together and call it a festival and charge everyone $175-250 dollars to get in."
I just don't like it...much prefer regular concerts.

I would rather Pearl Jam do their own tour with a couple support acts. The setlists are so much better, more intimate, when this is the case. And you don't have to sit through 7 bands you don't like.
  • the security is tighter now at the festival. I was there in 2005 and there was no crushing at foo fighters or audioslave, and everyone was really chill. And they have barriers in the front now.

I think they will play roskilde again. It's a big festival. Hopefully they play sweden too (arena, not festival).

    in general, fuck festival gigs.

But I think Neil, Bob, PJ and Nick Cave would be too cool together to handle. Don't see it happening. :)

  • Zegut is a famous french radio anchor, you can usually trust him... so i think it's true, wait and see, maybe, for the first time, he'll be wrong...

I had the same thought. PJ, Neil, Bob and Nick ... too good to be true.
  • So we would get Love Boat Captain as an opener? That wouldn't be too bad..

How do you know it's Europe this Summer? They better be swinging by West Coast. Although I have a feeling that might be the end of the tour. Kind of like a "there is no place like home" kind of deal :)

You mean "there´s no place like Europe" kind of deal ;)

  • My guess is they'll leave Europe this year, and come in 2010 (with a new album). Though I'd enjoy a surprise.

I would've said they'll never do festivals again, but that changed. I'd be surprised if they played Roskilde, but I'd wouldn't rule it out.
    Hey hey it's okay...

I'd say no, as they've said so, but then again, they also said they'd never play festivals again, and they have done so pretty frequently since 2006. So it's certainly a possibility.

they have done a lot to make it safer, multiple barriers etc
they faced up to their demons in Copenhagen last year, but i would not write it off. If it does happen, it will be truley special, but it had better be at the start of their tour as i want to do the full week long build up to Roskilde!

An album in 2010???? That would be horrible... Roskilde on the other hand, i think will be good for the band and fans.
  • Woot woot???
I've hear a rumour about this...months ago. Whoa. :D

There have also been rumours about the big German festivals (Rock am Ring, Rock im Park) for 2009. So, maybe, there's something about it...

I can see how my words might have been taken that way. But no that's not what I meant. I meant that even though I want them to take care of us Left Coasters first, I have a feeling that that's not what they will do. They will go to Europe first to shut those cry babies up for the Summer. Then come back to the US and finish it up over here on the Left Coast as in "no place like HOME". Get it?
    :D

    Got it! :D

  • Hmm, I like what one of the posters on here said, that Roskilde is like this demon that they have to face, I agree with that, but I don't know why I can't imagine it happening, who knows, anything is possible right? It's up to the boys to see really...
