DIY Set up

Ok so, I thought id be cheap and try and set up my guitar myself.
Basically I wanted to increase the action slightly to try and give the guitar some more sustain. (not even 100% sure that would help) anywho, That seemed to work ok I was able to move the bridge saddles to give me a few more mills of action, but this threw out the intonation. By a lot. It basically threw out the intonation by about half a semitone sharp on all strings.
Now I checked all the youtube guides and stuff on how to do it, moving the saddles closer to the bridge if its sharp. But because it was out so much I cant go back any further….. So I am basically stuck.

Can anyone help? I presume I have to reduce the height of the saddle and start again which will lower the action and I’ll be back where I started?

Yip, I should probably take it into a proper tech. But I don’t want to be defeated ;)

Specifics. Fender Strat, Bridge saddles are the vintage fender ones adjusted with a screwdriver.
Thanks in advance.
