What's cooler: Vinyl or Cassette Tapes?

I know for a while vinyl was the in-thing and has made a comeback, but in reading the Checkpoint Charlie thread, I think the 90s generation cherished cassette tapes more than vinyl. I know I have the Atlanta 94 tapes still somewhere as well as when Vedder played DJ and gave out his home phone number and other nuggets.
So here's my question: Do you cherish your vinyl collection more or cassette tapes?

Living in the East Coast of Canada, where there isn't a huge Pearl Jam fan base population & tape trading was pretty low, many of us just passed around Unofficial Bootleg CD's > cassette tapes. We didn't have Audio CDR burners. I didn't mind then collecting cassettes, cause it was the only way I could hear live Pearl Jam @ school & on the bus each day. But totally wanted the Original Silver CD Bootlegs. Taz Records was our lord & savior place. My lunch money would directly go each week to buying a Pearl Jam Bootleg CD. I was pretty obsessed with Bootlegs. I still am today!

The coolest thing for me was, and is again, opening that new LP, looking at the cover art, looking anything that was included, like a lyric sheet, and then playing it for the very first time.
Vinyl is final.

vs was the next day. same guy outbid me while i was at work. he won by ONE DOLLAR.
i don't know him and i hate him.
I still have the tapes I used to have but they're mostly all lost or put away somewhere never to be heard again. They were mostly all copies off other tapes/CDs. I was 10 when I got a CD player and that's about when I started buying albums and used tapes for mixes. There is no argument to be made for sound as CD's are better and the packaging is better for CD's. I was quite happy leaving tapes behind.
There is an argument to be made for the sound, artwork, etc for vinyl which is why it is seeing renewed popularity. Tapes don't have that and therefore are not likely to see the same comeback.
We had Urban Sound Exchange here too in Halifax. Then later bought out by CD Plus. They used to carry a few bootlegs. Prices were cheaper but their cases were opened. I never liked shopping there. They are like EB Games. You check the shelves and you want to pick up that 'NEW' cd/video game. The clerk pulls out the discs from their cabinet and puts it in the open case. Sells it to you new, not used. It's not new if the wrapping clear case/sticker is open. Urban Sound Exchange & EB Games said, it sure is. I never shopped @ these stores again. Anything cd jewel case or video game case opened, while the clerk is searching for your disc, is not new.
