Check Point Charlie
While digging through my glove box for a pen yesterday I unearthed a beloved yet forgotten little treasure;
The cassette I recorded of the Check Point Charlie concert, 11/3/96.
I was a bit hesitent to play it for fear it would get eaten by the tape deck but it plays surprisingly well. The sound is great and other than the couple of songs being slightly missed from where the taped had to be flipped I would have to say it plays almost as well as my other bootlegs.
This definately made my day and will be played continuously until the May concerts!
Then into the vault with the vhs tape of MTV Unplugged. It is way better with the Sega commercials

np!
I'll never forget cleaning up my old vhs tapes off the shelves. Making way for my dvds'. I saw on the cover of a Zeller's brand VHS tape "MTV Music Awards '93" complete! So I went ahead and played it. But what came up? An old SummerSlam WWF payperview event! :evil:
I still have dozen's of VHS tapes that haven't even been passed around in the trading community. I used to love those Hit Paradar ad's where you could buy bootleg t-shirts, cd's, patches, tapes etc.. Ah, those were the day's! Wish though I had the money back then & collected them all. There were so many wicked unofficial silver cd Pearl Jam bootlegs. Many though were repeats. My favorite were Oxygen & KTS Records. Alway's happy when I got one of those bootlegs in the mail. Though @ 35 dollars CDN a pop, it was pretty pricey!
Interesting. I have the unofficial silver discs too, but they have different artwork. I think mine came from a radio station.
There were many pressing's of the broadcast. There's tons of promo cd's @ pjcollectors.com. I forget which station was it, but every 2nd song, it would do it's little promo. It was a pain in the butt. Checkpoint Charlie & a bootleg called Act Of Love didn't have any radio promos @ all. It was funny listening to all these bootleg CD's @ Taz Records wondering what to buy.
I need to get this off the tape and onto my ipod.
