I didn't notice a thread on Bret Michaels. I fully realize that most Pearl Jam fans are not Poison/Michaels fans (I'm a fan of all rock music), but I thought I'd post something out of respect. I certainly hope he has a full recovery. I just saw him do a small club show in Montgomery two weeks ago, and this was just three days before his emergency surgery in San Antonio after his show at Sea World.

I never wish ill will towards anyone, but I gotta ask why a PJ message board constantly gets posts about talentless schmucks like Bret Michaels, Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, Nickleback, etc?

I dunno...a guy who publicly hooks up with skanks on tv is pretty far from cool in my book. Especially when my two pre-teen sons ask me to explain what Bret Michaels is doing. Bottom line: he's the male version of that Tequila chick.

Hey Bret Michaels: your 15 minutes of fame are up. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Now, let's get back to talking about Pearl Jam.

...having said all that, I apologize to the OP, as I saw this topic on the PJ homepage and responded before I looked at the Board Index. "Other Music," whether I like Poison or respect Bret Michaels or not, is a place one would expect to see topics about "Other Music"...what a novel concept, huh?

    Sorry for going off.

Like him or not, the guy has managed to stick around while almost all of his contemporaries have faded away. And yeah, I liked Poison when I was in high school. I grew apart from them thankfully, but no reason to wish ill will on anyone. Some Pearl Jam elitists need guys like Bret Michaels and Scott Stapp around to make them feel better about themselves.
  • POISON opened for Def Lep last year and Brett hung out with the audience members even after the performance, signed autographs, introduced his kids...he was grateful for this small spotlight and connected well with the audience. He always struck me as a major douche...but this was a pretty cool side to him. Wish him a rapid recovery. :)
