Okay so i just joined up on the ten club not to long ago and decided to say hello to everyone and post and talk about our first PJ experience.
Mine was at V-Fest in Calgary Alberta 08/08/09! It was an outside venue at the bottom of a ski hill i stood at the front of the pit for seven hours not wanting to lose my spot. Got pretty dehydrated but totally worth it to see the guys rock out!

Welcome to the club, good to have you. My first show was Hamilton Ontario Canada in September of 2005. I had been waiting to see them for like 5 years at that point but I was in high school and did not have the money for any shows until 04 or 05, and I missed them in Buffalo NY which is close to my hometown in 2003. I headed up to Canada for the show in 2005 which was a great tour for me since I live very close to the Toronto/ Niagara Falls Region. I've seen them three times total but I'll always remember the Hamilton show fondly as I discovered that Canadian Pearl Jam fans really love Pearl Jam, much more so than some of the shows I've seen here in the States. I'd love to head back there for more shows but I dont have a passport!

  • Mine was in 1996, Hartford. I was in the mosh pit that was rushed by the police, ie: see the footnote in Live on Two Legs. I have been a Pearl Jam fan since. That show was great and every show after that was great. My most recent show was at the Spectrum on Halloween. I went to two shows in a row, and then on Sunday night, my wife gave birth to my son Edward (named after my grandfather and my wife's great grandfather). Pretty much the best three days of my life.

After having been a fan since 94 my first show wasn't until June 2008...since then I've been to 1 EV solo show and the last 3 shows at the Spectrum

First show was August 2009 at the Molson Amphitheater in Toronto. Like people say around here it changed my life forever. My husband and I went and he's never seen them live either. He was a fan but wasn't a fanatic like me...that is until now that he's seen them live. He's told me now he know's why I love the band so much. I can't believe I waited that long to see them live, i've always wanted to but there was alway's something in the way. Now i'm going to my second in Buffalo in May and I can't wait! I'll never miss another show if they're touring and it's driving distance from where I live.

P.S. Canadians do love PJ and hope they come back real soon!!

If you are just going to Canada you do not need the full passport. You can get a IDCard for travel to Canada and Mexico it is used for re entry back into the United States. If you want one this web site should answer all your questions http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html

Oh my first show is coming up here in Columbus OH. I actually won two tixs on the local radio station.

    You're welcome.

This concert coming up for me is gonna be awesome. Not only because it's something i have wanted to do my whole life. But it seems like this is a steping stone into a new chapter in my life. Over the past 6 years i have not been able to work because of a injury that occured while i was in the Army. So i had one surgery 2 years ago and on 11 May i will be having my second. But alot has changed since then i am in a totally different mental state and i picked up a musical instrument for the first time since '90 and i sound pretty decent at it. Then winning the tickets and two of them is awesome cuz my cousin will come in. He missed the Sabres game here in Cbus and we always goto a Bills game together every fall. We have tried to do a PJ concert together for sometime but travel for me is not a great thing right now. This concert is awesome on so many levels i can't wait.

    Sorry for babbleing and misspelling

My first PJ concert was at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney in 1995. The show itself rocked, as PJ shows always do ;) , but the main thing I remember was finding someone's wallet on the ground. The next day, I tracked this person down using some documents in her wallet and a copy of the Sydney phone book. A week later, she sent me a thank you card and a $100 cheque :D

I know I should have done the honourable thing and sent the cheque back, but if, like me at the time, you're a teenager and you're holding a $100 cheque with your name on it, you take the money and run :D

  • Saturday 06/16/2007 headlining the Nova Rock Festival at Nickelsdorf (near Vienna, Austria). The night before Smashing Pumpkins performed on the same stage.
It was a quite good show, but not that great as Berlin,Germany in august 2009. I think, this (Berlin) was the best concert I was ever allowed to enjoy. Now I'm looking forward for the this year Berlin show, which is sadly the only one in Germany this summer.

Amazing! This must be one the greatest concert in history. I saw old Neil two times before (real good shows - no doubt), but togehther with PJ, it would be one of the greatest experience I could ever make. Imagine all the song they would play together.

Although I've been a HUGE fan since 1996 (not long after No Code came out - Yield was my first 'day of release' purchase), I had to wait until Leeds Festival 2006 before getting to see them live. I missed out on the UK dates in 2000 because they took place right in the middle of my exams :( Seeing my all-time favourite band for the first time at a festival wasn't ideal I guess, but it was still religious - I don't think I blinked for the entire show! The way they came on, with Eddie giving that little talk about keeping safe ("If you're ready, we're ready...") before tearing into 'Go'.......wow.....still gives me goosebumps when I listen back to the bootleg. Not a bad little setlist for a first show either....

My first PJ show was their Merriweather Post Pavilion show in 1998. I missed seeing them a few years earlier at the same venue but this time I made sure I booked tickets. I thought the venue had a good vibe about it. The parking lot seemed less strict than the Garden State Arts Center, a similar venue that I've been to many times. I had lawn tickets for the show and had a good spot near the front of that section. This show was one of the first shows that they played Last Kiss. That and Yellow Ledbetter made for a great 2nd encore. We also got treated to some great b-sides like Footsteps.

I remember afterwards when we were waiting to leave the place, someone in the car next to us was blaring the worst hip-hop music I've ever heard. I don't mind a bit of hip-hop but this stuff he was playing was absolute muck. I remember one line went something like, "My name is ______ but my friends call me shithead." It was at that point we got as far away from that car as possible.

1991 Opening act for the RHCP at the AJ Palumbo Ctr. Most kickass 45 minutes that left me wanting more ever since. Welcome and enjoy, it's like fine wine that keeps getting better with time.

My first show I went w/ a friend and we went from NYC to New Orleans in 1995. They played this outside field. It poured all morning - and The Ramones opened up - what a great time. Have the poster framed w/ the ticket (back in the day when the 10C printed your name on the ticket). Even managed to buy the bootleg as well. Great show - Great set!
