AIC and Deftones are gonna get owned this fall

Rumored tour....Mastodon/Deftones/AIC......Seems like Mastodon will surely be the opener, but can the other 2 bands really follow adequately? Not speaking of the quality of bands, but won't Mastodon come out and rock the crowd's collective head off?


Alice In Chains will headline a monster tour featuring Deftones and Mastodon that is scheduled to kick off this Fall. Velvet Hammer Management issued the following YouTube teaser for the "secret tour" that will be announced over at BlackDiamondSkye.com in the weeks to come.

To end speculation on this being nothing more than "hopeful rumor", the domain name in question, BlackDiamondsKye.com, was registered by <!-- e --><a href="mailto:liz@velvethammer.net">liz@velvethammer.net</a><!-- e --> at Velvet Hammer Management (home to Alice in Chains and Deftones) on April 9, 2010.

    Mastodon definitely puts on a hell of a show. But I've heard AIC's latest tour has been pretty good.

    Don't know what to say about the Deftones, but I do love all these bands so if this show comes anywhere nearby I'll do my best to be present.

    AIC is on the top of their game on this current tour. I saw them in Atlanta back in February and I'll see them again next Friday night at the Crawfish Boil in Birmingham.

    for me personally..AIC is the weakest link on this bill.

    I am in the minority..but never was huge in to them to begin with. If it comes near me I'll go and prolly sit through them though. Saw them on Lollapaloosa 3 anyway..so I saw em with Layne.

    Interesting. Depending on the ticket price, I'll get to catch Mastodon, Deftones, then scoot out and beat the traffic.

    the deftones are the weak link for me. i never really got into them but i'd check them out. can't believe people would bail out on AIC tho, they sound amazing right now. never seen mastodon but it would definitely kick some ass to catch them. i'm in if they come out to chi.

    i tried getting into deftones but i couldn't really. i was supposed to see mastodon on their tour with dethklok last fall but i missed out. and i was supposed to see alice in chains open for velvet revolver three years ago. this tour would kick ass.

    i cant really get into Mastodon but it sounds like a good lineup.
