    Sweet!
  • if you've ever been to the staples center, I think it's similar to that, at least for hockey.

The sound is better at the Prudential Center. But nothing compares to how the stands rock and vibrate at MSG.

Yeah, the previous post was correct. The tiered seating is closer to the floor because there less rows in each section. Rather than alot of rows in each level, there are less rows and more levels stacked on top of each other........if that makes sense.
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!

"intimate" and "newark" are not two words you usually see in the same sentence.

Thank god I'm not driving. NYC Penn Station is 20-25 minutes away.

In addition to Metallica (in-the-round, so cannot compare it in "intimacy" :D), I went to see Bon Jovi when they had a 10-night stand and was in the first section from the floor. It seems like a small intimate venue because it's steep and the sound is perfect. I was able to see band well although I was at the opposite side of the arena (in comparison to the stage)

I've been in pretty much every section in the Garden from the 200s and below and the sound is still excellent but the arena is not as steep, so you are farther away.

Now, at least in my Metallica experience, the MSG shows had a much better atmosphere than the ones at Newark, probably because more than half the arena was filled with die-hard fans from all over the world at the Garden while in Newark it had to be more of a NY/NJ crowd. As the Pearl Jam shows are close together (Metallica's Newark was 10 months before the MSG), I'm sure the atmosphere will be similar in both venues, CRAZY as all the shows will be packed with clubbers.

    Hope this helps.

I just have a gut feeling that Newark will be a special show. It's going to be a fan club crowd in a smaller venue. Also, the band has never played there before, and of course BRUCE is going to show up!
  • it looks like the prudential center is smaller. i've been to MSG a few times but never to this place. my best is the PC though.

I gotta drive ... I'm coming up from Atlantic City. The area is pretty nice though so I'm not worried.
