All Puerto Ricans Birth Certificates will become null and void on July 1, 2010, for any native citizen born on the island.
So what does that mean, here's a sample of some of the things you can encounter,
a) technically, you are an illegal within the continental US until you reapply for US
citizenship and are declared a US citizen.
b) you can be detained by State officials as an illegal
c) you can be disallowed to vote until you are declared a US citizen. Also, this
allows States the discretion to ask for proof of citizenship for voting requirements.
d) you can be refused any government benefits until you are declared a US citizen
e) States can suspend your driver license
g) Banks and credit cards companies can suspend you credit lines.
h) You can lose your homes and businesses because you can't get credit while waiting to be declared a US citizen.
Many Puerto Ricans believe they are immune to this law because they have passports or were born within a State.
-- One of the main reasons for this law is based on 'identity fraud'. People using Puerto Rican birth certificates to acquire, credit, credit cards, social security cards and benefits, and PASSPORTS. So having a passport does not prevent States' law enforcement from using discretionary requirements in asking you to provide a birth certificate. --
Given the immigration laws that Arizona is attempting to pass, every latino or latino looking person will become subject to States' law enforcement discretionary requirements to produce papers or be detained. [Sound familiar - Never Again].
Governor Fortuño in his eagerness to step onto the National scene, gave away his most powerful tool, the Puerto Rican vote. He dismissed the undercurrent racial climate in this country and forgot that law enforcement doesn't care if you're mexican, cuban, puerto rican, spanish or hispanic, they are there to control and Fortuño just gave them a legal way to control the entire Latino vote.

SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.
