for just one night could our boys play and fill wembley stadium?
The last proper UK tour(2000) they probably played to 40,000 at different venues.
In 06 they headlined the leeds/reading bash,Dublin tickets went fast.
In 07 the wembley arena tickets went really quick.
but....
It appears a lot of pearl jam fans go to several shows on the same tour.
hard to gauge how popular the boys are in the uk because they get zero press.
I am only asking because i think it would be awesome to hear 80,000+ singing along to black, alive etc
what do you reckon?

  • They couldn't pull it off for a regular show. It was have to be something special like a concert with all the proceeds going to charity or something like that. Either that or a co-headling show with U2 or some other huge act. There's no way they could fill a stadium that big otherwise. They barely sell out arenas in most parts of the world as it is. Plus PJ is a not a stadium show type of act. They don't have elaborate lights and a huge stage show. They just play their guts out for 2 plus hours.

Wouldn't that be 100k +? I doubt they could fill that.
    somewhere between 80-90,the foo,s had 87,000 and claimed a sell-out
  • I doubt that they could get to 90,000, it probably would take a co headliner of some kind to pull that off. The thought of 90k people at pearl jam concert is pretty sweet though.

oh, i bet they could pack it pretty good. Why oh why do people love to doubt the drawing power of this band? If they were only playing a few shows in Europe or doing a one-off show, the fans would come from all over. Just like they do for every other big band out there. Christ! There are alot of people in the UK and Europe, they would show up.
