Cabs from NY to NJ

This may be a dumb question, but, being from texas, i just want to know, to ease my stress.

I have a reservation for 5-17 - 5-25 at the garden hotel in time square (0.3 miles from MSG)

All was good, but now with the Newark show, i have to go to all 3. So my question is this

my GF is disabled, and cant do a lot of walking/stairs. So, is it a common thing to hop in a cab in time square and say, i need to go to Newark NJ? ( i know its only 20 min away) Also, when leaving the show in nj, will it be easy to catch a cab right back to NY?

The money is not an issue. I know it may be expensive for a cab, but, is it a common thing? (please no flames!)

Also, do ny/nj cabs take a visa card? Im sure they do, but, is that normal?

Anyone who takes time out to answer, id appreciate it. Im down near Houston and things are a lot different here and there with highways and cab drivers. Thanks!

If Money is not an issue, then it is certainly do-able... Make sure you get in cab before you tell them where you are going... It is usually double the cost of the meter and fares to go out of state...

If I were you, I would set up a private cab (car service) to take you back and forth... I have a bunch of numbers of car companies... sedans or SUV's that can take you back and forth...

PM me if you need further info...

Yes you can take cabs. They all take credit cards. Though, I would call and pre-arrange a pick-up at your hotel. I'm sure the concierge at your hotel can take care of all the details.

thanks for all the info so quick!

My last question is, what about after the show, will it be hard to get a cab, can i get one of the car companies to wait during the show? Just curious, in ny, i could walk back to my hotel, but in NJ, ive been stuck for a while in seattle trying to get a cab after a show, and, just curious how it worked. Do they have a line of cabs outside for when the show ends?

Thanks again! very helpful to know!

I know they have limo lines and stuff. I would just arrange everything with a car service. Talk to the hotel staff. They'll know best.

I'm sure one of the new york-newark airport limos or driving services can be booked.

I am kinda thinking of getting a stretch limo (not a good one mind you) from JFK to our hotel in Manhattan to give the kids a buzz on their first taste of new york. Go the whole guy in airport waiting with their names on a card routine...

    Heaps listed here.

just get on the train from newark, it goes right to penn station which is right next to the garden.

You could take the train. The train station is about a mile from the Prudential Center and if need be you could take a cab from there. I would think a cab to the concert from Manhatten would at least be a hundred bucks each way.

if you take a yellow taxi cab, they have the right to not take you there since you are not going to any of the 5 boroughs, 3 NYC area airports, our westchester

fair need to be agreed on before, there is no meter, so im sure you can get there for like $80... i would just call a car company/limo service.

    i have used downtown limo - 201 795-9595 / 888 702-9595

the big thing is you need a ride back, you should be able to call them at the end of the show and they should be there in 15 min, call ahead and see how much it would cost

The train is also a very easy way to do, it is quicker/cheaper... but the few block walk from the train station to the arena may be tough for you gf, but you can get cab from penn station (newark)

well train is the easiest but you have a bit of walking to and from the venue

as others have said, a yellow cab will cost you and you cant make a reservation

as others have said, book a car service like carmel-search for web coupons as well-you can give them a call after the show ends as they always have cars nearby at newark airport

most importantly...just ask the hotel to hook you up
the only problem with that is they sometimes inflate the charges
