I'm working so not doing anything special for Earth Day, but we do all kinds of things for the earth on a regular basis...I just thought to celebrate today, I would share these awesome shots I got of our beautiful Earth this morning.

In a way, I'm glad there is Earth Day because it helps raise some awareness. But I honestly don't celebrate one day for the earth. Everyday counts. Everyday I try to at least think about if not do something helpful for the plant and be grateful for this planet that sustains us.
"Don't give in to the lies. Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth. And to hope."

I am a piss poor activist and I usually procrastinate my way out participating in even the simplest tasks of signing petitions and email/calling my reps.
I console myself with the fact that I grow large amounts of produce and live a very minimalist lifestyle in the country. I don't buy or have things that most people buy and have regularly and I recycle the old fashioned way, by fixing, repurposing, and doing without. A small thing I do that I am always proud of is that I don't buy gifts for the kids in my family, I build them castles and boats and rocketships from cardboard boxes. I posted a pic of the latest one in the "high right now" thread.
