Hi everyone,

I need help to identify a song that played at the startup of this website, during one xmas time, one year.

Please , i do not remember precisely what year but it mustve been between 2003-2006. It was after the release of the Riot Act i believe, The song was amazing, it began with a short orchestral intro (about 10 seconds of it, i think) and it had a slower tempo and i remember there being organ to it (so that means that Boom was definitely in that song) and also it seemed bluesy to me.

Please, nobody eat until you help me find this song,

(ps. i asked this same question a couple of years ago and i did not get a satisfactory answer.)

If somebody has this song on their harddrive, please send it to me at ofthegirl2004@hotmail.com

Thanks everyone,

David

  • Hello dear sir,

i would probably have to hear it, but i've heard wasted reprise, and i don't think it is that song. this song would load up at the startup of this website. and it was truly amazing. It doubt it was a song from Avocado. It was during the xmas period. I forgot to mention that the song was purely instrumental, i repeat, there was no lyrics whatsoever!

I have to know that song

Was it some South American song? The Ten Club did select a few songs as "teasers" for future tour announcements.

    Hi bootlegger10,

it's very possible but i would really have to hear it, like i said, there was a short orchestral intro (which lasted about 10 seconds) and the whole song was purely instrumental.Do you have these songs on your harddrive, if so , can you send them to my email adress ? ofthegirl2004@hotmail.com

that would be amazing if i could have that song.

    thanks for your help

  • The only song I remember in the intro was Arc. I know they had a couple different songs for a short period of time after that, but i don't remember what they were.

The admins would surely know and they could just tell me. If i wrote them, i wonder if they would tell me.

It's really difficult to explain this song, because this was a long time ago, and as i do not know the name of the song, because obviously the name of the song was not given when the song began playing on the website. I don't think it was arc because the song i remember had a seriously heavy organ solo at the end of the song, by Boom probably,

someone has to have this song, somewhere.....

I was pulling your leg. I don't think that Boom rocked out on our national anthem. It was up on the website just prior to the Canadian Tour announcement in '05.

    Here is a good version:

the song is called The Girl from Ipanema

i think this video has a version somewhat similar to what was playing on the website.

also, at one point they had like an organ only version of Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come' on the site.

I did a search in youtube for "A change is gonna come up sam" and the very second the music started playing, it all came back to me. This is the song. I am getting closer, indeed closer. Now if someone has a link to where i can get the pearl jam version, that would be so amazing! This song's notes touches me and should touch others as well.

This youtube link is to an old version by Sam cook,

If it was when it had a big face(kind of robot looking or spartan helmet looking) in black and tan/yellowish colors then it was ARC. You go ta splash page with ARc then it went to the site

BUT since you said it has an organ it must be Love Boat Captain

  • Hey, thanks for the reminders of these songs that were featured on the website. My first thought in response to the question was just remembering Arc, but now that I have re-listened to the links you all sent, I remember those songs as well.

Here's a question though. I can't remember when the new updated version of the website came into effect, but I haven't gotten music with the website since then. Some of you mention the Canadian tour and Montana show, but I thought the new site had been active since before then, so why don't I get music when I open the site? Is it just an occassional thing, and maybe I've missed those dates, or do I need to change my settings somewhere (PC user)?

I miss the music I used to get as I opened the website, and now that you remind me of the variety, I miss it even more. I also remember loving the "A change is gonna come" song - I remember it as the last song beofre they changed the website.

no im pretty sure it was still the old site for both canada and montana... atleast i think i remember seeing the riot act tribal mask while listening to "oh canada"... so i wouldnt worry about your settings... no more music with the site :( ... probably helps it run much more efficiently tho... along with not having all those cool animated pictures along the margins
