This was my contribution to Gallery 1988's "Greatest Moments In Sports
History" show... What better moment is there then when Pittsburgh
Pirate's pitcher Dock Ellis, high on LSD, pitched a no-hitter against the
San Diego Padres on June 12, 1970..? There is none! Granted there are
countless stories of unbelievable athletic achievement and overcoming
insurmountable David and Goliath battles and personal, emotional
triumphs that tug at our heart strings... but how many of those people
accomplished their monumental achievement with a head full of acid...?
As far as we know, only one...
If you are unfamiliar with this story, there's a nice animated movie about it
online:

I am going to do my best to ship these as fast as I can, but I am beyond
busy these days...trying to finish up a couple of posters by the end of
the month as well as finish laying out a book I will be putting out later
this year of all my posters. I am going to hopefully have some help with
shipping these orders out, but it might take anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks
to get these in the mail... we are going to try and be much quicker then
that but please understand if it takes a few weeks before they arrive.
2010 is proving to be the busiest year I've ever had... lots of cool projects
lined up, so as always, stay tuned...
Thank you all very much.
I hope you are all doing well out there...

That's a drag. Even 10c gives more heads up than that!
No matter how it is announced or sold, no one will ever be totally happy.
And no. They are usually announced a day or two ahead of time. Without this post, I would have missed it.

Dunno. I noticed the SG SHop selling them too.... although not signed and numbered (at least no mention of it).
Thanks for the useless reply.
I like this answer better. It actually has information in it.
My problem is twofold: I can't get personal emails at work (so I'd miss the announcement until I got home after the fact) and I can't access the Artillery website from work anyway, so I'd need to make adjustments. So even if this happens again, it's good to know that there are outstanding humans like dimitris to give us a heads up.
