My class was noticeably joyful the other day
yes, we're nearing the end of the year,
hear 20 people playing thru a new piece as one lilting monster piano (!)
they're feeling confident and comfortable,
they're telling jokes,
laughing at the funny harmonies,
and later they're improvising -- trying amusing arrangements
so, they ask me to listen to this or that
and with a smile I realize we've reached the right place
that place I love where the unexpected works
and the environment is right
:)

every time I go to a BMX race and listen to the young rider's coach the younger rider's or just talk with each other I feel good about our future, as the song goes "teach your children well".

    Thanks chadwick.

I realized after I put it up that it wasn't a poem in the least but rather just a happy moment I had. 8-)
