My love for twin cassette decks

Just got an old sony twin cassette deck off of ebay, possibly best ebay purchase ever. The sound is so warm and non digital, plus it has all these cool selector buttons/switches that do excellent things. Making my first mix tape for about three years was an absolute joy...listening to 'Alone' on the playback after was worth every penny I spent on it :)

Err aren't cassettes taped off digital masters? So it's not totally non-digital. Vinyl is the only proper analogue medium.

I think I'm right but not entirely sure

True, but the point I was making was that the sound that I get out of it - the end result sounds much 'warmer' than a cd

I still have a stereo (in our basement) with both dual cassette recorder/player and a cd player. One day I put the stereo on a classic rock station and I taped some really good old stuff like Melissa by the Allman Bros. It's like downloading for free. I don't think it sounds as good as a cd however. I heard from a guy at an office store that you can only buy blank tapes at Walmart.
