As much as I would love to see pearl jam play there, I think they made the right choice with a home town band this year

I would love it if Pearl Jam played safeco field or wrigley for their 20th anniversary. I would travel from CT for either of those

    yawn
    smaller venues please

the last thing we need is for the band to start thinking they can just do 5-6 stadium shows each year to make the same amount of cash

I agree. Shit, Pearl Jam is having trouble selling out 16,000 seat hockey arenas, even here in Boston. They will never sell out ANY stadium in the US, not even Giants stadium. In S. America, Europe, or Australia they have no problem selling out stadiums.

The Boston Redsox Management (Tom Werner) is on record (98.5FM The Sports-Hub) saying that the Sox Mgmt approached the Band about playing a show at Fenway. There was significant mutual interest on both sides, however the band's schedule and the available dates at Fenway made it impossible this year.

It seems we have been talking about this every year....It's probably just a matter of time before it happens.
